Tom Davies scored a superb try in the first half and he has an absolute sitter in the corner for a second, but the winger takes an age of it and is far too casual, dropping the ball in the process.

How didn't he score that?! It was a lovely move to put Davies in on the right.

Morgan Knowles picked up an ankle injury earlier and the word is he won't be able to return to the action. A shame for the St Helens man.

France hoist a kick towards the corner but it's too long from Tony Gigot and he looks very frustrated.

You have got to get these details right. England breezed their way into the game, you give them enough possession and they will come up with tries. It was a terrible start from France and England capitalised on it.

In any sport you have to get the basics right and it was a very lacklustre start from France.

That's the break. England lead but have had to soak up some pressure.

Can France make this pressure count before half-time? They've had England on their own line for several minutes, Matthieu Laguerre has it but the hosts are going backwards, and eventually England gets a hand on the ball and the hooter goes!

Oooh! Reece Lyne lifts Arthur Mourgue up and the Frenchman goes tumbling to the ground with his legs in the air.

It's a penalty to France, but Lyne escapes a yellow card.

Justin Sangare looks for a gap but is closed out short of the England line. The visitors are having to do some defending before the hooter. It's going to be another set for the hosts.

It's taken 20 minutes France but have got used to the intensity of the game. The intensity shocked them at the start but this is their best spell so far.

Tommy Makinson darts towards the line but is stopped short on the left and England go back right. Ben Currie arrives at speed but his pass goes astray.

England applying some more pressure on the French line and they do make it over, but there was a knock-on to get them there. Shaun Wane would love another try before the break.

Loose from Paul McShane and that gets a cheer from the Stade Gilbert Brutus crowd. They've not had too much to shout about so far this afternoon.

Benjamin Jullien looks for the hand-off but is gobbled up by Zak Hardaker a few metres short of the England line. Morgan Knowles picked up an injury moments earlier and will need some treatment.
