We are into the final five minutes.

Wigan give away a penalty for a push on James Fisher-Harris as he tries to play the ball.

Nathan Cleary is quick to take the kick. He wants the Panthers to attack in a hurry.

Neither side has done this easy, they've both been under duress. This will stand up for whoever wins as one of the great World Cup Challenge finals. At the moment, the trophy is heading back into Wigan's cabinet.

Penrith errors when they are staring down the line have cost them dearly.

Just over six minutes remain and the Panthers have let two openings pass them by.

Ed Bazeley: Watched a lot of rugby across both codes today, but that from Jai Field is the best tackle of the day.

It's close but it's the right call. You can tell that by the muted boos.

  6. NO TRYpublished at 72 mins

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

    It's chalked off!

Bevan French went too early and strayed just offside from the kick from halfway.

That dive at the end was pure showman stuff from a star who was convinced he had scored.

  7. TRY REVIEW: Wigan Warriors 20-12 Penrith Pantherspublished at 72 mins

    BEVAN FRENCH DIVES OVER!

Has he given Wigan breathing room? It's a try on the field, but we will look at replays.

  8. 'There is no better tackle you will see than that there'published at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

    Kevin Brown
Former England international on BBC Two

There is no better tackle you will see than that there from the full-back. Absolute copybook.

Beautiful bit of defensive play, sensational. Again, character shown. They hang on and that's probably the third occasion where they've blown an opportunity, the Panthers.

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

Oh it's a missed chance for Wigan.

Just when a gap opened up on the left, a pass from Jake Wardle as he lost his footing goes over the head of Liam Marshall.

He would have back himself in a foot race there.

  10. NO TRYpublished at 69 mins

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

Taylan May put his foot down and looked destined for the corner.

But Jai Field matches the centre for pace and drags him into touch.

And only just, as May did wonderfully well to sling a pass back into play to send Nathan Cleary over.

  11. TRY REVIEW: Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Pantherspublished at 69 mins

If Penrith have scored this, it's one for the highlight reels.

  12. Postpublished at 67 mins

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

Tyrone Peachey has come off the bench for Penrith and is looking fresh and energetic. That'll be handy at the back end of this energy-sapping game.

For the first time in a long while, Penrith are starting to see a little bit of open play to try to exploit.

Neil Morrow: In all honesty, the third Wigan try was ridiculous. There is nobody in Wigan, let alone Penrith or St Helens, who thinks that was a try except for the referee and the video ref. It won't be a good look if there are no more scores in the World Club Challenge.

Penrith are lurking and look dangerous as they try to find ways to pick Wigan apart about 20 metres out.

And it is another dropped ball that is their undoing, this time it's Jake Cole that fumbles.

  15. 'It feels like it did in the first half'published at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

    Paul Rowley
Salford Red Devils head coach on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It feels like it did in that first half where Wigan resiliently defend their own line, then they get one decent bit of field position off a Harry Smith kick and the tide changed.

This is where Penrith made the mistake last time.

  16. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

Harry Smith's kicking display tonight for Wigan has been sensational.

There are times that he has kicked to relieve pressure, and this arching long bomb he has just punted downfield demands the utmost attention of Dylan Edwards.

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

We have just passed the hour mark and Isaah Yeo punches through Wigan's defence, then swings a pass inside for Nathan Cleary.

The Panthers co-captain, however, fails to clutch it and the chance is gone.

In fact, they are fortunate Jai Field didn't pounce on the loose ball to race off the other way.

  18. 'The young Wigan players are standing up'published at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

Harvie Hill has been incredible since he's been introduced. The young Wigan players are standing up, aren't they?

  19. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Wigan Warriors 16-12 Penrith Panthers

So Penrith are chasing the game once more.

I think the best has come from them every time they have been down tonight.

Both Panthers and Wigan have rattled calmly through a set each, with long kicks well defused at the end of each.

This is just the match that keeps on giving.

Wigan have the lead for the third time. Talk about a see-sawing contest.
