What a weekend - and what a finale.

After the theatrics of Saturday we've had another cracker of a game on Sunday, and it's all set up perfectly for the final weekend.

England, Ireland and France can theoretically all still win the title, although it is surely between the first two.

Ireland have the far better points difference but they have to travel to Paris to face France, and although Les Bleus are a long way from their best, as England discovered in their agonising defeat on the first weekend, the French are always a difficult proposition at home.

England will head to Rome insisting that victory is all that matters, but in the back of their minds they must be thinking that if they put 50 points on Italy, then you never know...

Join us next week as the champions of the 2014 Six Nations is decided - only on the BBC.

Danny Till:, external Robshaw was awesome again. Completely outplayed Warburton.

Richard Mifsud:, external Englad played very well and deserved the win but Wales were dire. the score flattered them - Gatland at fault.

Little Richardjohn:, external Gatland's 'Rope-a-Dope' strategy is dead. Welsh fly-halves have forgotten the low kick to the corner, and how to win clever.

England captain Chris Robshaw on BBC Red Button:

"This gives us a shot going into next week [at winning the title by hammering Italy]. We need a bit of luck with Ireland going to Paris. But the crowd were absolutely outstanding today, and I've never heard the anthem so loud. When you've got that passion and those fans behind you you can't let them down.

"This team has grown, and we're extremely pleased with our performance. But the fact we gave Leigh Halfpenny 18 points off his boot is something we need to look at. It could have been a better scoreline today but it was outstanding from the guys.

"It's a massive scalp - we all know what happened last year. We'd lost the last two times we'd played them and we needed some momentum back. We've now got ourselves back into contention, and we're ticking along.

"But it's a massive ask next week. We have to just focus on our own game and can't focus on points. We've had some difficult fixtures against Italy - we've got a day less to recover and we have to make sure we're fresh. Emotionally, too, we have to make sure we're on top of it."

Former England centre on BBC One

"England fly-half Owen Farrell has continued his progression from the start when he had a very good game against France. My concern is that I don't want him too involved in defence. I want his head up and to let it go when it comes to attack."

    Sir Clive Woodward
Former England coach on BBC One

"England inside centre Billy Twelvetrees is not Will Greenwood yet - the World Cup-winner was very special - but Twelvetrees is getting better for every game and there's no substitute for a run of games.

"He's playing well with Burrell, he's a great passer of a ball and the more you're in a winning team the more you feel you should be there.

"England's pack have done well and there are more stepping up to the mark - it's getting pretty exciting."

Wales coach Warren Gatland on BBC Red Button:

"We didn't keep the ball well enough today, there were too many turnovers and we were hammered at the scrum - very disappointing.

"We hung in in the game and had we taken a couple of opportunities in the second half we could have turned the game around, but it didn't happen. I'm disappointed with the number of turnovers we had.

"This is a tough tournament to win, it's full of good sides. It's about getting some momentum, but there are four really good sides with not a lot between them on their days.

"I don't think there's a lot between the two sides, and home advantage probably played a bit today. But I take my hat off to England, who played very well and defended aggressively."

England coach Stuart Lancaster on 5 live Sport:

"I was really proud of the team today. They are a great set of lads who always want to play hard for each other and the shirt. I felt if we started the second half well we could take the way for Wales and it would be hard for them to come back in, and that's what happened.

"We've tried to remove the fear of playing, and when you've got the courage of your convictions it generally pays off. It's nice to get the win to put last year's result in Cardiff to bed. We lost fair and square on that day, but today was our day and we deserved to win."

Bob Quinn:, external England a delight to watch nowadays. Triple Crown fully deserved. I'm ruing opening 16 mins against the French, otherwise a Grand Slam.

Tim Riggs:, external All down to the wire. If Ireland lose in Paris and England win they could just do it.

Patrick Gerrish:, external So so well done to the England boys today. You made us all so proud. Absolutely amazing.

"Ireland have to go to France next week confident and believe they can beat a France team who have been showing poor execution and no discipline or gameplan."

    Sir Clive Woodward
Former England coach on BBC One

"I'd leave the England team as it is. Manu Tuilagi has to prove himself. They don't need to change a winning team and the way Billy Twelvetrees has moved the ball and his kicking, it's above Tuilagi.

"England have to assume they have to score a hatful in Italy. They have to go for it and set their stall out."

"Last year Courtney Lawes wasn't quite on top of his game after not having a pre-season. We saw him playing on the blind-side for England and missing a couple of tackles. But now he's on great form and he is complemented by Joe Launchbury. England are also now so assured in the line-out."

Man of the match Courtney Lawes on BBC One:

"It was an amazing atmosphere, walking in. The crowd gave us everything throughout the game and you could see, the boys were so up for it.

"We grew a lot as a team over the last year, and a performance like that has been a long time coming.

"The boys were great today and we needed that win after the last few games. It's fantastic - it was a great game and to be fair to the Welsh boys they battles hard."

  13. Postpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2014

    England coach Stuart Lancaster:

"I'm really proud. We set our attacking intent from the start. We didn't get everything right and Leigh Halfpenny punished our indiscipline but we were deserved winners.

"We've got a big game next week now, we're still in the fight and we want to be ready for Italy.

"Wales got one over us last year and that was in the back of our minds but this is our day and I'm delighted and proud for the boys.

"We can only control our performance and Italy will be wanting to put on a display, so we'll need to be ready for that."

"Wales manufactured one chance. They had very little and were kept in it by Leigh Halfpenny's boot. England were far better. They were men today."

    Sir Clive Woodward
Former England coach on BBC One

"The biggest thing is the way the forwards are passing the ball, they're playing 15 man game and England were vastly superior in every department. That 's a big win and the next 12 months are now very exciting."

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales fly-half on BBC One

"Tactically, England worked Wales out. I enjoyed the way they played in midfield and the two second rows were outstanding.

"Joe Launchbury epitomises England's development. He was quiet in Cardiff last year but today his performance was immense. England look a very solid all-round side."

It was closer on the scoreboard than it should have been and the indiscipline that gave Leigh Halfpenny the chance to keep Wales in the game will not have pleased them, but this was a fairly comprehensive win.

Swifter in thought and deed and with power and athleticism in abundance up front, this is an England side that looks very much on the up.

As for Wales, the big question remains, is this a temporary slump or a team on the slide.
