"Both Ben Youngs and George Ford are taking the ball flat and it's important they do that. Stuart Lancaster will be happier with the passages of play he's just seen. England just need to execute the half chances they're starting to create."

England gradually build back towards the Italy line. Kelly Haimona rolls back on Ben Youngs foot at the base of a ruck and that is clear penalty.

It is meat and drink for George Ford from the tee. Bang in front and less than 30m to fly and he makes no mistake.

Neil Wallington: , externalI certainly wasn't expecting this. The Italians have come out with a point to prove.

Amy:, external England need to work on their start game. Two poor starts to both Wales & Italy game. Here's hoping for another win though!!

Andrea Pagani:, external We are not playing bad today!!! Come on Italy!!!

Interception! George Biagi snares a careless Anthony Watson pass. There are acres for the Italy second row to run into, but he does not have the legs to take advantage of the clear route to the line.

If it had gone to one of the Italy backs, they would have been in under the sticks.

Former England centre Mike Tindall:, external Hope Mike Brown is ok. For me Cipriani should be on at 15, less shuffling in back line.

  7. Postpublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

That was the "point of difference" the "X-Factor", the "razzmatazz". Anthony Watson beats three defenders with twinkle toed footwork and a spurt of pace. Only just hauled down and England are now deep in Italy territory...

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

"Before the game, one thing I couldn't figure out is what they would do if Mike Brown went off.

"I would have put Danny Cipriani straight at full-back. He has played there before and the entire back line would stay the same. He hasn't played full-back this year for Sale but you keep five players in their positions. What will England learn about Billy Twelvetrees and Luther Burrell they they didn't already know?"

Mike Brown is carted off, conversing with the England medical staff as he goes.

Play restarts with a scrum which the England pack monster. Referee John Lacey penalises the backpedalling Italians and George Ford bangs the clearing kick away from the danger zone.

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales fly-half on BBC One

"The Italians have varied their attack a lot. Mike Brown is slightly caught out of position, it's a lovely chip kick. Mike Brown has done exceptionally well to get there but the Italians are asking questions of the English defence."

Neck brace on and stretcher underneath him, Mike Brown is still being treated on the pitch. We will let you know as soon as we know more about his injury.

Billy Twelvetrees is going to come on in his place, with Anthony Watson dropping back to 15 and Jonathan Joseph on the wing.

The two teams are doing drills and stretches to keep warm through the lengthy delay.

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

"It was a clash of heads after the chip ahead and Mike Brown dived full length, brave as he is. But his head made a real strong connection with Andrea Masi's shoulder. If you wanted a test of the concussion protocols then it's now.

"As a former player, there's a difference between a bang on the head when everything is a bit fuzzy for a few seconds and a dangerous situation when you are not in control of your senses."

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

"When Mike Brown went for that ball, as soon as he went down he didn't move from his position. You can see he's bleeding from the nose. I would hope that if there's any doubt he won't return, for his own benefit."

Mike Brown's head took the full force of Andrea Masi's shoulder as he attempted, in vain, to get to Kelly Haimona's teaser of a chip.

The Quins full-back is laid out flat, moving, but only gingerly and there is blood trickling from his nose.

The medical bods are understandably taking their time over this one. Clock off.

    Lovely stuff from Italy.

Kelly Haimona chips off the outside of the boot and Andrea Masi stretches to gather behind the England defensive line.

England defence at six and sevens... but spared as Italy knock on from Masi's offload.

More enterprise from Italy as they continue to work through the phases and spread the ball wide.

They is plenty of heft behind the charges of Kelly Haimona and Leonardo Ghiraldini as well.

Billy Vunipola fails to roll away and Haimona takes Italy up to the England 22-metre line. They claim the line-out as well...

Jon Salinger:, external Don't panic, this is what happened last week @EnglandRugby and we know what the final score was.

Richard Utting:, external Strong start from Italy. Sloppy start from England. Need to approach every game like the Wales game.

Paul Felgate:, external If anyone needed reminding that this was never going to be a just turn up and win match then that was it.

Twickenham has slapped itself back to its collective senses after the shock of the opening score.

"Swing Low" echoes around the old place, but Italy are the ones with the rhythm in their hips.

Kelly Haimona, who looked out of his depth against Ireland last weekend, skirts around George Kruis after faking to kick.

    Nice. Real nice.

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

"It's a deserved try. It was a great run by Luca Morisi, making a lot of ground. Mike Brown made a choice to go on his outside and probably made the wrong one. England were too narrow."
