And it all leads to a try.

The visitors switch the ball inside to Owen Farrell, who breaks the first tackle to make some precious metres.

Eventually he's sent tumbling, but the damage had already been done, and Mike Ellery is left with a relatively simple finish in the corner.

Charlie Hodgson's conversion misses, but Saracens strike first.

A bit of confusion at Kingsholm, as Alex Goode and the touch judge thinks he's dragged Bill Meakes out of play - but they're both looking at the wrong line, painted for the World Cup but narrow than what we're using this evening.

It'll be a line-out, nonetheless, from which Sarries win a penalty and then kick to the corner.

The teams are making their way out at the AJ Bell Stadium to a rapturous reception.

A couple of minutes until we get under way.

We started with five of England's World Cup squad on the pitch - and now another has joined us.

Neil de Kock has picked up an early knock so limps off, and he's replaced at scrum-half by Richard Wigglesworth.

Almost an embarrassing groan around Kingsholm as that penalty sails well, well wide.

I briefly chatted to Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond as his team entered the ground and he was in a relaxed mood, all smiles and looking forward to the game.

His Worcester counterpart Dean Ryan has been on the pitch watching his squad go through their warm up in his tracksuit, with a more serious look on his face.

  7. Missed penalty (Twelvetrees)published at 19:52

    Gloucester 0-0 Saracens

Billy Twelvetrees was the man with the golden boot seven days ago, kicking nine penalties against Newcastle, but he's well wide with an early shot at goal from the tee here after Sarries are penalised for drifting offside.

More on that Saracens kit, which my colleague at Kingsholm Nabil Hassan has just described to me as "shocking".

To paint a picture, the top two-thirds of the shirt are blue, which gradually fades to grey, which is then also the colour of the shorts and socks. Yeah, it's different.

Gloucester are on the attack down the left-hand side, up to Sarries' 22.

Right then, let's get cracking. Charlie Hodgson - not Owen Farrell - tonks the ball long and we're under way at Kingsholm.

Here come the boys under the Friday night lights in Gloucester.

The Cherry and Whites are in cherry and white, Saracens in a dashing shade of blue.

    Kick-off is moments away.

We have a bit more last-gasp team news to bring you as we march towards kick-off at Kingsholm.

Gloucester's Mark Atkinson has withdrawn following the warm up and is replaced on the bench by Rob Cook.

Friday night rugby is back for Sale Sharks as on a mild October evening in Salford.

To say a second match of the season is a 'must-win' might sound strange, but with the Sharks getting thumped at Saracens last week, another loss here would be disastrous for their season ambitions of top six and you'd imagine they would be looking at a season of struggle.

That said, Sale have lost just once here in 2015 and won eight of their 11 Premiership games on this ground last season, so they will be hoping for something similar tonight.

Dean Ryan's Worcester Warriors are unchanged from the side which kept their nerve for the last-gasp win over Northampton at Sixways.

New signing Tevita Cavubati could be in line for his debut from the bench.

Prop Val Rapava Ruskin, a late drop-out last week, is fit enough to also make the Warriors bench, which includes last season's Championship play-off final hero Ryan Lamb, whose last-minute penalty won Ryan's side their place back in the Premiership.

Replacements: George, Rapava Ruskin, Rees, Cavubati, Cox, Mulchrone, Lamb, Howard.

Sale Sharks make three changes from Saturday's heavy defeat at Saracens.

Centre Johnny Leota is back from World Cup duty for Samoa, Jonathan Mills is in at lock and prop Vadim Cobilas makes his 100th appearance for the Sharks.

Sale also have their other Samoa international, TJ Ioane, back on the bench, along with Russian lock Andrei Ostrikov.

Josh Beaumont switches from the second row to number eight, while centre Sam Tuitupou plays against his old club.

England trio Owen Farrell, George Kruis and Mako Vunipola return to Saracens' starting XV, with Rhys Gill, Maro Itoje and Duncan Taylor dropping out.

Farrell, most notably, will play at centre tonight, with Charlie Hodgson resuming at number 10.

Sarries have made a late change too as Tim Streather is out with a back complaint. Nick Tompkins replaces him.

Club captain Alistair Hargreaves is named among the replacements following Achilles trouble.
