Worcester made a winning return to the Premiership as Tom Heathcote's injury-time drop-goal earned them a 13-12 win over Northampton at Sixways.

Northampton stand-off Stephen Myler appeared to have won it for Saints on 78 minutes with his fourth penalty.

But Heathcote made up for three second-half penalty misses as his drop-goal had just enough legs to make it over the posts.

And, as we've just mentioned, it was a difficult old first afternoon of the season for Sale Sharks at Saracens.

So then, what might you have missed from last week?

Gloucester captain Billy Twelvetrees kicked 29 points as the Cherry and Whites held off a second-half Newcastle fightback to record a 39-27 win.

The 26-year-old slotted nine penalties and a conversion to add to tries from Matt Kvesic and Charlie Sharples.

Saracens got their title defence off to the ideal start with a 41-3 thumping of Sale.

Mike Ellery ran in a try either side of half-time, while Michael Rhodes, Tim Streather and Will Fraser also crossed the whitewash for Mark McCall's side.

Twenty days. Twenty whole days! Where has the time gone?

It seems barely believable now, that disastrous evening at Twickenham, when English dreams were shattered and the biggest party in rugby union was left without its host, was almost three weeks ago.

Of course, the World Cup rolls on, a weekend of semi-final action to look forward to.

But so does the Premiership, tonight reacquainted with five of its England stars. And you can follow every minute of this evening's fun and games right here.
