    Leicester go from fifth to third and sit five points behind Exeter, and the Chiefs' losing bonus point takes them to within three points behind leaders Saracens.

    Exeter head coach Rob Baxter is currently on the Welford Road pitch speaking to the officials about one or two decisions he is unhappy with, and they are politely nodding along.

    Maybe he feels his side should have been closer, but when the dust settles he will see his as a point gained.

    It looked at one point as if Leicester would run away with it, but credit to Exeter for that late rally.

    The Tigers take the win and a try bonus point, while the Chiefs miss the chance to go to but do go back down the M5 with a losing bonus point.

    And just as that is announced, he is taken off to a huge cheer at Welford Road.

    Exeter have not given up on getting this losing bonus point. 

    I know it's late, but their scrum is on top and seems to be winning a penalty every time they crouch down.

    With the table so close, how important could it be come the play-offs that Leicester stop Exeter from taking anything?

    A clash of heads where James Short has been knocked out means he needs treatment and then is taken off for a concussion assessment.

    The tempo is being sucked out of the game whenever Leicester get the ball - deep kicks and aiming for territory in the Exeter half are top of the agenda.

    They do have a line-out to work from here though in a decent position inside the Chiefs half.

    Exeter with a couple of charges into the Leicester 22, but Mike Williams executes a perfect choke tackle on Sam Hill to win his side the scrum.

    Tommy Bell hoofs the ball towards the halfway line and the visitors are still looking to get within seven points for that losing bonus point.

    Leicester get their hands on the ball but there is a lack of pace to their game when they do.

    With the bonus point already secure, you sense Richard Cockerill's side are more focused on finishing up with a win rather than going for a fifth try.

    A man down, but credit to Exeter who are still carrying hard and coming forward. 

    Ian Whitten and Sam Hill are doing some donkey work taking the ball up as the Chiefs look to get into the Leicester 22.

    Will this take the impetus out of Exeter?

    Freddie Burns goes up into the air and takes the ball from a box, but Exeter winger Matt Jess doesn't time his jump and catches Burns in the air that means he is sent to the bin. 

    That is Burns' last action as Owen Williams replaces him.

    Well, well, well. It really is game on now.

    Centre Ian Whitten hits a great line in the middle of the park and just carves open a Leicester defence that has been pretty watertight up until then.

    Another couple from Steenson and it is only 11 points the difference with a quarter of the game to play.

    Finally Exeter's endevours have been rewarded.

    They set the rolling maul from that line-out and scrum-half Dave Lewis is the grateful recipient at the back of it. 

    Gareth Steenson adds the conversion and a glimmer of hope of the Chiefs.

    Rob Baxter is smiling from ear-to-ear. 

    It's an ironic smile though after Freddie Burns pats the ball forward from four metres out after Don Armand picked up from number eight and attempted to pass it wide - Burns definitely stops a try but surely that was deliberate?!

    Just a line-out for Exeter after the penalty is kicked to touch.
