  1. No try (Parling)published at 55 mins

    Leicester 31-6 Exeter

No try for former Leicester second-row Geoff Parling, but the Television Match Official spots something in the build up.

We then spend another couple of minutes with the TMO but nothing comes of it and after all that it is a scrum to Exeter five metres out.

  2. Try review (Exeter)published at 55 mins

    Leicester 31-6 Exeter

Dominic Barrow is sent to the sin-bin for the hosts and Exeter launch a couple of driving mauls towards the line.

It looks as if Geoff Parling has placed down, but the Television Match Official will tell us yes or no...

  3. Leicester 31-6 Exeterpublished at 52 mins

So is there a way back for Exeter?

They have taken at least a point from their past 24 Premiership games apparently, but they will do well to get close to that now.

To start, they have a line-out five metres away from the try line...

Exeter compete hard at the line-out and leave room and Tigers deliberately threw it long. It took a bit of finishing from Adam Thompstone with James Short coming in for a tackle but he was more than strong enough to barrel over.

And what a way to bring up the bonus point!

This is a stunning set-piece move from Leicester who throw the ball all the way over the top of a line-out and Lachlan McCaffrey throws a pop pass back inside to a full pace Adam Thompstone to race in under the posts.

If you can catch a replay of that do, because that was a sublime move - Burns adds another couple from the conversion.

That try came about from fantastic defence from Harry Thacker. He threw off the line, read the ball, and the ball popped up to Ed Slater, then to Kitto then to Betham for a 60-yard canter.

Exeter pile on the pressure inside the Leicester 22 but they are unable to break down the green and white shirts and how costly was that Phil Dollman pass he wasted now?

Chiefs spill possession and the Tigers throw it to Australian Peter Betham who sprints 70m down the line unopposed.

Freddie Burns' perfect afternoon from continues and Leicester have an 18-point lead.

  8. Leicester 17-6 Exeterpublished at 43 mins

We barely saw anything of the meaty Exeter pack in the first half but they carry a number of times inside the Leicester 22.

Phil Dollman backs himself on a two-on-one with Matt Jess outside him but is brought down short.

    Still Chiefs ball though...

  9. Leicester 17-6 Exeterpublished at 42 mins

Exeter's pack will be happy with that first scrum after the break.

They turn the Leicester eight and win the penalty, from which Gareth Steenson kicks long to just outside the 22.

Good attacking platform to work from.

  10. Kick-offpublished at 41 mins

    Leicester 17-6 Exeter

Freddie Burns bounced the ball a couple of times in the mud and we're back under way at Welford Road.

Fraser Balmain is on for Logovi'i Mulipola in the front-row for the Tigers.

So that's George Chuter's thoughts, but we'd like yours.

Should Manu Tuilagi be considered for England next weekend against Wales? That's the game Eddie Jones had in mind at the start of the tournament.

What did Exeter need to to get back in this game - was resting Thomas Waldrom the wrong decision?

Exeter are not really playing their game. They've picked a ball-carrying side but we've only really seen Dave Ewers. I guess they'll be looking to get runners in the game in the second half. Exeter probably need to make changes fairly soon, at the moment it's a bit of an arm wrestle but with two tries while Geoff Parling was in the sinbin they are a little behind the eight-ball.

Well that took a while to get going but Leicester well deserving on their lead.

The penalty try and an increasingly impressive Manu Tauilagi with the tries as the Tigers are well on top in the kicking game which Exeter are struggling with.

Rob Baxter's Cheifs are missing the opportunity to go top of the table if the result stays like this.

  16. Penalty (Steenson)published at 40 mins

    Leicester 17-6 Exeter

Gareth Steenson as reliable as ever. The Exeter fly-halves clean strike sails through the middle of the posts and that is the first-half done and dusted.

  17. Leicester 17-3 Exeterpublished at 39 mins

Better now though from the Chiefs as they work through phase after phase... 15 of them in all before winning a penalty dead centre of the pitch just outside the 22.

Gareth Steenson will strike for goal and then Exeter will be back up to 15 men as Geoff Parling is ready to come out of the sinbin.

Just looking at Manu, he looks a bit big. I don't know if he's bulked up in the gym or whether he's still carrying a little weight. When you're out for a long time it's difficult to keep the weight off, especially when you eat like these guys do! But he looks sharp, he's carried well - he certainly looks ready to play international rugby but I'd be tempted to just let him play his club rugby for now.

  19. Leicester 17-3 Exeterpublished at 37 mins

Leicester look to be getting ahead of steam again before Harry Thacker throws a pass that is knocked on.

Second-placed Exeter have not made much of an impression on the game so far.

After the grunt of the forwards this is all about a team effort and it's brilliant hands.

Leicester work the overlap through excellent hands by Peter Betham and Michael Fitzgerald and Manu Tuilagi strolls in for his first Premiership try in two years - are you watching Eddie Jones? I'm very sure he is.

Freddie Burns makes it three from three and the Tigers are in control of this game with the man advantage.
