Let's start with the penalty count eh? Both teams had players sent to the bin, Bath at one stage had two in there! They were pinged on that score - 15-7.

"We're probably left 16-18 points ion the pitch, but we're getting there slowly, we need to nail these victories and these chances.

"We had a chat in the changing room, we said that we should have won this at a canter."

  5. Bath coach Mike Ford told BT Sportpublished at 21:49

    FT: Bath 21-19 Newcastle Falcons

"We defended 31 phases and it was amazing, a great effort not to give away a penalty, indiscipline put us in a position where we had two men in the sin-bin.

"We're pleased to get away with it, and to win with the confidence we're lacking - it'll be good to go in with a win on Monday."

Wow. What a finish. Poor old Newcastle won't want sympathy but they deserved more than that bonus point. They dominated the breakdown and were excellent at the set-piece.

Credit though to Bath, there's big expectation in the west country but they've failed to match them so far this season. Could this be the springboard toward sealing elite European rugby this season?
