    England 5-10 Wales

Just as I was about to say England have shaken off that rusty start, Ben Youngs executes an awful pass to hand over possession to Wales.

Dan Biggar gets a bit of treatment - he looks a bit winded. Might have taken one to the Barnstables.

  2. try

Hey Eddie, remember me? I'm the guy you didn't pick for the Six Nations.

A timely reminder of Luther Burrell's talents.

Mike Brown makes yards down the blindside and Jonathan Joseph makes some distance - shoddy tackling from Wales.

England win a penalty and go to the corner. Ben Youngs takes it from the back of the catch and drive and tees up Burrell to charge on to the pass and over.

George Ford inexplicably misses another one from the tee.

  3. Missed penalty (George Ford)published at 19 mins

    England 0-10 Wales

George Ford gets hands on the ball for the first notable time. He kicks crossfield, looking for Jonathan Joseph, but it's in the hands of Scott Williams.

A kicking battle ensues and a fumble from Liam Williams gives England possession.

Wales are punished for going in off the feet. Ford has an easy enough penalty effort from 30m out - oh dear. He's put it wide.

  4. Postpublished at 15 mins

    England 0-10 Wales

Messy and laboured from England so far.

    Zippy and slick from Wales.

  5. Penalty (Dan Biggar)published at 15 mins

    England 0-10 Wales

Wales go through the phases nicely and Rob Evans goes into a gap with ease. England stick hands into the ruck and Wales, to cheers from their supporters, go to the corner.

England infringe again - not releasing - and Dan Biggar will happily take a shot at the posts from a simple position. He nails it.

  6. Postpublished at 12 mins

    England 0-7 Wales

England are given a free-kick, which Ben Youngs quickly takes, only to give it away. Wales launch it downfield and emerge with a line-out in the England half.

  7. Postpublished at 11 mins

    England 0-7 Wales

Sloppy stuff from the hosts, who have the space to whip the ball around but too many of the passes are loose. Wales infringe though so England can go from a scrum again.

  8. Postpublished at 9 mins

    England 0-7 Wales

An opportunity for England to respond as they win a scrum deep in Welsh territory.

  9. try

Try (Rob Evans, con Dan Biggar)published at 6 mins

    England 0-7 Wales

Easy peasy for Wales. They work it from the line-out from right to left and Scott Baldwin has a nibble at the line. Rhys Webb recycles quickly and Rob Evans piles onto the ball and over the line - Jack Clifford is under him but can't stop the touch down.

Dan Biggar does the Macarena and clips over the extras.

    England 0-0 Wales

England are offside at the breakdown just inside the Wales half and the visitors stick it out for a deep line-out.

  11. Postpublished at 5 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

Ben Youngs must have covered his hands in Vaseline before the game.

For the second time he drops the ball and turns over possession to Wales.

  12. Postpublished at 3 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

England are swift from the line-out on their own 22 and Anthony Watson glides up the middle of the park.

Jonathan Joseph chases his own grubber kick, but Dan Biggar tidies up and Wales win the line-out 10m from their own line.

  13. Postpublished at 2 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

England make a scrappy start  and have to clear their lines. Wales attack down the openside but George North runs out of pitch.

Here we go. It's the boot of Dan Biggar to get us under way. Twickenham lights up with noise.

You know the problem with these 18 stone, six foot rugby players?

    They're all a bit soft.

England head coach Eddie Jones has said the country's lack of success since their 2003 World Cup win is because they've basically been on their holibobs.

"When I was Wallabies coach in 2004, they came out for a holiday," he said. "We put 50 points on them in Brisbane."

He's a quotes machine is Eddie. Read more here.

It's el scorchio at HQ today. Liquid refreshment is a must.

This is the first time England have ever played a home Test in May, by the way. Doubt it will be the last.

    Are you watching New Zealand?

Warren Gatland hopes they are. He wants wales to "send a message" to the Kiwis before their three-Test tour next month.

"To arrive in New Zealand, winning, will hopefully send just a little bit of a message. People in New Zealand are pretty excited about the tour."

There is a debutant among the England XV - his name is Teimana Harrison.

The 23-year-old New Zealand-born forward, who qualifies for England through his father, has had a stonking season for Northampton and starts at blindside flanker.

And there's likely to be three more first caps handed out - with prop Ellis Genge, hooker Tommy Taylor and centre Ollie Devoto on the bench.
