So, a nice easy start for Worcester Warriors new head coach Carl Hogg then!

Life after Dean Ryan, who left Sixways at the end of June, begins in front of a huge crowd at Twickenham against arguably the best side in the Northern Hemisphere. No pressure then!

"We know the challenges Saracens are going to bring to try and knock us off stride," the 47-year-old told BBC Hereford & Worcester.

"They're a very accurate side. If you make a mistake they'll turn you over.

"But that's part and parcel of rugby. We're aware of what they do and the philosophy of their game but it's very much about how we conduct ourselves."

Back to today's business and Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has urged his side to get off to a fast start as they bid to win a third straight Premiership title.

But he doesn't expect today's opponents Worcester to roll over quite as easily as last season's match at Twickenham when they ran out 48-18 winners.

"The first six games are tough, really really tough, and they're really important because we've got our full compliment (of players) available to us," he told BBC Radio London.

"Worcester have actually recruited strong over the last two seasons, not just this season, and they've brought in some really experienced players.

"We know that's a difficult one first up for us because we haven't had our international players back that long."

But what about today, I hear you ask? Well, it's only the London Double Header...

Harlequins face newly-promoted Bristol at Twickenham later this afternoon, but first up the reigning champions Saracens take on Worcester Warriors.

And that's not all. You can't forget a match between Northampton and Bath, two sides that will want to forget last season in a hurry.

    Premiership opening night

Gloucester looked to be coasting to a victory over Leicester Tigers when Henry Purdy put the hosts 31-7 up.

But last season's Premiership finalists fought back to produce a game which will live long in the memory, and score 31 unanswered points to leave Kingsholm with a tremendous win.

You can read Gary Smee's match report here.

In the other match, Sale fly-half Dan Mugford missed a last-minute penalty as Newcastle held on to earn an opening-night victory at Kingston Park.

American rock band The Strokes once produced a song in homage to 'Last Night'.

Looking back to yesterday's opening night of Premiership action I'm going to do something similar.

No, that's not write a song about it, but pay tribute to the fact we were treated to two matches defined by last-gasp dramatic rugby, just the way we like it.

And today, we have three more games to tickle your fancy - including the London Double Header from Twickenham.

Stay here for all the updates, news and views. You won't want to miss this.
