    Exeter 6-15 Saracens

Exeter Chiefs are penalised at the scrum and Sarries continue the ruthless streak they've shown this afternoon as Alex Goode boots over the penalty.

Saracens beat their hosts in all three meetings last season, and with 25 minutes remaining they look in relative control at Sandy Park.

    The start of the comeback?

Ross McMillan manages to barge over the line from close range and Tusi Pisi adds the simply extras for the hoss.

It has been a much more even start to the second-half in Bristol.

    Exeter 6-12 Saracens

Saracens have been in complete control of this first nine minutes since the restart, but are denied a further five points by the TMO.

England and Lions prop Maku Vunipola goes over in the corner like a seasoned winger, but his left hand was in touch and Chiefs live to fight another day.

  9. Chiefs spurning chancespublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

Saracens are ahead at half time, but Exeter showed the sort of form that got them to last season's final as the half wore on.

But for an amazing last-ditch tackle from Alex Lozowski and some Exeter handling errors the scores would be much closer.

Can Saracens use the strong wind to their advantage in the second period, or will Exeter come back and get a first win of the season?

    Exeter 6-12 Saracens

The Chiefs probably deserved more from that half but go in six points down against the reigning champions, who played the last 10 minutes of the half with 14 men.

Mark McCall's side also have the wind in their favour after the break - and lead thanks to Alex Lozowski's second try of the season and Sean Maitland's score.

Impressive stuff from Northampton, who have one hand on four points this afternoon.

A Northampton try for Louis Picamoles and first scores of the season for George North and Ken Pisi have given them a commanding lead as Bristol have conceded too many penalties.

The Premiership new boys have a lot of work to do.

Well that was odd. Richard Wigglesworth has just been sin binned after referee JP Doyle overruled his TMO Geoff Warren.

Warren originally said there was nothing wrong after Wigglesworth stopped Henry Slade, after the Exeter man jinked past the former England scrum half.

But after seeing it on the big screen Doyle decided it was a trip and Sarries are down to 14 men.

Chiefs are really turning up the heat on the champions now, but don't currently have much to show for their efforts.

    Bristol 3-25 Northampton

This time Northampton's try review is not successful.

A driving maul again from the Saints pack looks as if the ball has been grounded, but a knock on is spotted before it reaches the floor.

  15. Sin-bin (Wigglesworth)published at 15:37 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

    Exeter 6-12 Saracens

There's a break in play and referee JP Doyle sees a replay on the big screen, which shows Exeter fly-half Henry Slade being tripped by Richard Wigglesworth.

The Sandy Park crowd voice their discontent, and after discussion with the TMO, Wigglesworth is shown the yellow card.

With the wind in their favour, this is now a big 10 minutes for the hosts ahead of half time.

Slade converts the resulting penalty. Game on.

    Bristol 3-25 Northampton

Bristol are struggling to get out of their own half at the moment.

Every mistake by the hosts is being capitalised on and Saints fly-half Stephen Myler is kicking deep and penning Bristol in.

Looks like Andy Robinson is going to need some inspirational words at the break.

  17. Penalty (Slade)published at 15:33 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

    Exeter 3-12 Saracens

Chiefs have their first period of sustained pressure and in the middle of a whole host of bodies, the ball is grounded.

Was it over the try line? Referee JP Doyle refers to the TMO, who says no.

The hosts start another wave of attack and are finally rewarded with a penalty, which Henry Slade kicks with ease.

From bad to worse from Bristol.

Stephen Myler's crossfield kick is perfectly weighted for Ken Pisi for the touchdown out wide, which Stephen Myler nails a difficult conversion from.

A chorus of boos around the stadium though as replays suggesting Pisi might have had a foot in touch.

  19. Penalty (Myler)published at 15:22 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

    Bristol 3-18 Northampton

This is not the start Bristol fans would have hoped for in their first home game of the season.

Stephen Myler's second penalty from three stretches Northampton's lead to 15 points and they're playing well in their white and green shirts in the sunshine in Bristol.

  20. try

Try (Maitland, missed con)published at 15:20 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

    Exeter 0-12 Saracens

This first 20 minutes has been somewhat reminiscent of the Premiership final between the sides less than four months ago.

In that game, Exeter left themselves too much to do in the second half, and they're at risk of doing the same here.

Scotland international Sean Maitland sneaks over in the left hand corner, but Alex Goode misses an almost impossible conversion.
