After a long time with the Television Match Official, Northampton get their second try through French number eight Louis Picamoles.

The Saints driving maul set up up for the score and despite Jordan Crane's best efforts, the ball was grounded - another two for Stephen Myler opens a 12-point lead.

    Exeter 0-7 Saracens

Sarries may be ahead at Sandy Park and largely in control, but with only 16 minutes on the clock it's far too early for showboating.

The England number eight kept the ball in play but went for an audacious 'no-look' pass, which almost gifted Exeter a try.

    Phew!

Henry Slade won't enjoy seeing the replay of that Saracens try.

The Chiefs fly-half, who came in for criticism from England coach Eddie Jones earlier this year, missed the tackle on Alex Lozowski as his Sarries opposite number went over.

Slade has also missed his first kick at the posts, but once again the gusts in Devon had a lot to do with that.

  4. Penalty (Pisi)published at 15:15 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

    Bristol 3-8 Northampton

Bristol win a succession of penalties and with one awarded right in front of the posts, opt for goal.

Tusi Pisi takes over kicking duties with Gavin Henson out injured and slots it through.

  5. try

It has taken Wales winger George North just nine minutes to get his first try of Northampton's season.

New signing Louis Picamoles makes hard yards down the middle to suck in some defenders and the ball is worked to North for an easy score.

Stephen Myler cannot add the extras.

  6. Penalty (Myler)published at 15:06 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

    Bristol 0-3 Northampton

England captain Dylan Hartley is successful with his first line-out, but Courtney Lawes is obstructed as takes the ball handing Northampton the penalty.

Stephen Myler is successful with his first kick at goal and Saints get the first points of the game.

Saracens are already showing why they are champions.

They win the line-out, win the maul, and Richard Wigglesworth feeds Alex Lozowski, who fended off Sam Hill with ease to go over with a lovely solo effort.

That's two tries in two for the fly-half, who only joined Sarries in the summer.

    Alex Goode adds the extras.

  8. Missed penaltypublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

    Exeter 0-0 Saracens

It's Sandy Park, so of course there's a strong, swirling wind.

If Sarries centre Marcelo Bosch didn't know that already, he does now.

Exeter concede a penalty on the floor but from long-range, the Argentina international fires his kick miles wide.

  12. Chiefs out for revenge?published at 14:58 British Summer Time 11 September 2016

    Exeter v Saracens (15:00 BST)

    Brent Pilnick

Saracens are the only side since January 2015 to have won at Sandy Park.

Their 14-11 win in Devon back in early February, when they were 11-0 down, set the tone for a second half of the season which saw them dominate at home and abroad.

But having lost to Wasps last week, Exeter will be loathed to lose more ground on the sides that finished around them last season, even though it is early on in this campaign.

Just three and a half months after Saracens beat Exeter to add the English title to their European crown, last season's top two meet again.

The Chiefs are without star England winger Jack Nowell and highly-rated flanker Dave Ewers, while Australia prop Greg Holmes makes his full debut.

The battle at 10 could be interesting, with Owen Farrell missing for Sarries, and Henry Slade keeping the Exeter fly-half berth ahead of last season's talisman Gareth Steenson.

But Saracens have been forced into a late change with George Kruis ruled out, so Jim Hamilton comes into the second row.
