    Exeter 19-13 Harlequins; Bath 3-7 Worcester

    Harlequins hit back against Exeter. Rob Buchanan off the back of a maul grabs the visitors' first try and Tim Swiel lands the extras to make it a six-point game with 10 minutes of the fist half remaining.

    Meanwhile, George Ford slots Bath's first points with the boot against Worcester. A good one, that just to get the mood after missing an earlier effort.

    Northampton are the side doing the probing at the moment, going through the phases but not getting past the Saracens 10-metre line.

    Stephen Myler tries an up-and-under in a bid to mix it up.His kick gets held up in the wind but it forces a knock-on and gives the Saints a set-piece opportunity.

    The first points at The Rec come from Niall Annett. Tom Heathcote with the initial break and the ball is moved on before eventually finding Annett to finish.

    Exeter building a lead now. Luke Cowan-Dickie first punishes Harlequins for a overthrown line-out five metres out to punch and touchdown. Lachie Turned then grabs a second and Gareth Steenson adds the extras each time to make it 19-6

    Stephen Myler draws Northampton level with a penalty for offside.

    That came from Northampton's best passage of attacking play. The Saints had built the phases well, with Louis Picamoles and Kieran Brooks providing impressive breaks.

    The visitors have shaded the possession stats in the opening quarter.

    Brilliant defensive work from Northampton's George North saves a try.

    Sarries full-back Alex Goode had burst through the Saints defence and had Chris Ashton up in support with him but Wales international North matches Goode for pace and rips the ball away at a crucial moment, with Luther Burrell helping in the tackle.

    Saracens are starting to threaten, with their pack looking powerful at the moment.

    Alex Lozowski puts Sarries ahead with his second penalty of the day.

    That was a good kick from the fly-half in the windy conditions in north London.

    Exeter went ahead inside 10 minutes with Lachie Turner coming up with the games first points. Gareth Steenson failed to land the extras.

    Harlequins respond with two Tim Swiel penalties to edge the visitors ahead 6-5.

    At The Red, Worcester have worked their way into the match. The Warriors come up short, with a knock on over the try line as they drove forward. The video match official has a good, long look at that, but Bath survive.

    A frantic passage of play comes to an end with a knock-on by Saracens winger Chris Ashton on the Saints 22.

    Sarries had created an overlap on the left flank but didn't play it right, allowing the Northampton defence to come across and put Ashton under pressure.

    At The Rec, Bath has suffered an injury blow with David Sisi going off with an apparent hand injury. He is replaced by Zach Mercer.

    Earlier, there was golden chance for Bath to go over but a poor pass from Matt Banahan saw the chance go begging, with a two-man overlap to aim for.

    Saints prop Kieran Brooks had been off his feet when trying to win the ball at the breakdown.

    Sale 13-26 Gloucester

    The third round of the Premiership got underway last night, when Sale welcomed Gloucester to the AJ Bell Stadium.

    And just as they did last season, the Cherry and Whites made themselves right at home to win. They remain the only Premiership side in 17 months to win at the ground.

    Scotland scrum-half Greig Laidlaw kicked Gloucester tot their first win of the season with 16 points.

    Chris Wyles makes his first appearance of the season for Saracens after featuring for the USA in the rugby sevens tournament at the Olympic Games.

    Schalk Brits comes into the side at hooker while Michael Rhodes starts at blind-side flanker. 

    Northampton make one change to the XV which registered their first win of the season at Bristol.

    Mikey Haywood replaces England captain Dylan Hartley in the front row, with Charlie Clare named on the bench.
