  1. Bristol 0-20 Saracenspublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

Still not a lot of ball-in-hand for Bristol as we also approach the hour mark at Ashton Gate.

Saracens haven't been at their flourishing best this evening, but it hasn't really mattered.

  2. Northampton 14-16 Exeterpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

We're meandering towards the hour mark at Franklin's Gardens, where Saints continue to have the better of ball and territory but still trail after that Gareth Steenson penalty.

They have a line-out about 10 metres from the Chiefs line.

  3. Penalty (Steenson)published at 21:00 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Northampton 14-16 Exeter

That's altered the complexion of this game a little, however. A collapsed scrum, a slip from Ben Foden and an infringement from Alex Waller makes for a sloppy couple of minutes from Northampton and an opportunity from the tee for Gareth Steenson, who edges Exeter back ahead.

Try time again for Saracens and Alex Lozowski.

Bristol back Adrian Jarvis has his clearance kicked charged down and Lozowski is just there in time to chase it down and get a decisive hand on the ball.

Also keeps his feet inside the whitewash after we go upstairs for another look. Ben Spencer maintains his perfect record with the kicking tee to add the conversion.

We've absolutely raced through the first 10 minutes of the second half, and Northampton are now just starting to take charge of things again.

Exeter have the put in at a scrum, but it's about midway inside their own half and in exactly the sort of area the home side will be happy to keep them.

  6. Penalty (Spencer)published at 20:54 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Bristol 0-13 Saracens

Couple of minutes of the second half played and Saracens penalise Bristol's first infringement with three more points from Ben Spencer's boot.

Prop Kyle Traynor pinned for not rolling away.

  7. Northampton 14-13 Exeterpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

If the first half was spectacular, the second has been little more than scrappy.

A handful of handling errors and a couple of reset scrums, but no real opportunities for either team going forward.

  8. Kick-offpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Bristol 0-10 Saracens

We're back under way at Ashton Gate after a slightly delayed half-time.

No points for the visitors as yet, but there's been some decent spells from Andy Robinson's men and Saracens have not been at full tilt just yet.

We're back under way at Franklin's Gardens then, where Northampton have come from 13-0 down to lead 14-13.

What will the second half have in store for us?

Bristol put themselves under some pressure by making mistakes and taking easy-outs. In the second half, they need to try and find a way through this Saracens pack by holding on to the ball and building pressure that way. Saracens will not be best pleased at their first-half display, they'll feel they left some points out there.

They're a bit slower on the clock at Ashton Gate tonight than they are at Franklin's Gardens.

Half-time arrives and despite not having anything to show on the scoreboard, Bristol have had their moments.

Saracens have the lead though courtesy of Alex Lozowski's try and the boot of Ben Spencer with a conversion and a penalty.

That's been a belting opening 40 minutes, capped by a simply magnificent debut try for the late replacement Rory Hutchinson.

It's still all to play for at Franklin's Gardens.

But that latest passage of play fizzles out when Harry Mallinder drags an ambitious drop-goal attempt just wide of the sticks.

All the while, check out this little picture in from Alex...

... A fair bit's changed since that bright start from Exeter, mind you.

Still all Saracens on the scoreboard at Ashton Gate and some notable carries from Billy Vunipola.

But, Brad Barritt is stopped just short of the line from adding a second try and some more spirited defence by Bristol is keeping them and their home support in this one.

Just under 10 minutes to half-time.

  16. Northampton 14-13 Exeterpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

Exeter are all over the shop here, as Olly Woodburn spills a high ball deep inside his own half and then Ollie Devoto's aimless run and pass forces Will Chudley into a rushed clearance.

This has been a half of two halves, if you catch my drift. Northampton are on the attack again.

  17. Bristol 0-10 Saracenspublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

Saracens still well on top in this one after Bristol had made a promising start.

But, Sarries starving Bristol of the ball now and forcing infringements as well inside the hosts' half.

Returning second row George Kruis certainly having an impact at the set piece.

It was all going right for Exeter a few minutes ago, but now they're well and truly rattled - a matter compounded by Gareth Steenson's miss from the tee after Northampton had been pinged at the breakdown.

  19. Penalty (Spencer)published at 20:12 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Bristol 0-10 Saracens

Twenty-two minutes gone at Ashton Gate and Saracens add another three points through the boot of Ben Spencer.

Bristol punished for some indiscipline on the floor for not releasing.

  20. try

Try (Hutchinson, con Mallinder)published at 20:11 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Northampton 14-13 Exeter

Wowzers - the try of the Premiership season so far, no doubt.

George North is the creator this time, running the ball from deep, deep inside his own half, first breaking the line and then jinking his way around a hopeless tackler on halfway.

The Welshman is running out of room down the left now, but can he pick out a team-mate? You bet he can - and two passes later the debutant Rory Hutchinson is in for a try he'll do well to better.

The conversion is good and within the space of about 90 seconds Northampton go from 13-0 down to 14-0 ahead.
