    Leicester 22-6 Harlequins

Leicester have been utterly dominant in the first 15 minutes of the second half and they've built up a 16-point lead.

They're on the attack again inside their own half as Ed Slater runs clean through the Quins defence.

Tigers will be tough to stop from here...

  2. try

Try (Williams, con Burns)published at 54 mins

    Leicester 22-6 Harlequins

And there we have it! Our first try of the afternoon.

A lovely chip over the defence is collected by Owen Williams and he slides in for an easy try.

A really well executed move by Leicester who have control of this game now.

    Leicester 15-6 Harlequins

From the defensive line-out, Leicester launch a huge kick downfield and it's a great chase by Tom Brady who puts James Chisholm under pressure and they concede the penalty.

Chilsholm has been Quins' best player so far this afternoon but that wasn't smart play from the number eight.

    Leicester 15-6 Harlequins

Harlequins with their first real period of rest-bite in the second half.

They're just about into the Tigers' 22 but there's no real purpose about their play and eventually, their accuracy lets them down.

  5. Drop-goal (Burns)published at 49 mins

    Leicester 15-6 Harlequins

Leicester have more good field position after Quins concede another penalty.

Brendon O'Connor once again slips through a tackle and Tigers are asking questions here.

But the ball is slow and the referee has his arm out for the advantage.

Leicester don't wait around and Freddie Burns takes three simple points.

Leicester open up the biggest margin of the game as Freddie Burns slots another kick and stretches Tigers' lead to six points.

    Leicester 9-6 Harlequins

So nearly the first try. But the referee was having none of it.

Freddie Burns was a metre away from the referee's mark and despite diving over the try-line, he's pulled back and he'll go for the three points.

  8. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Leicester 9-6 Harlequins

Leicester have turned the ball over in a crucial position and the Welford Road crowd have found their voice.

Tigers with a real opportunity here for the first score of the game and it's their forwards who will try to drive this ball over the whitewash.

Plenty of room for improvement after the first 40 minutes. I like your optimism Stephen...

    And we're back!

A tough, tough afternoon for running rugby but this is a real battle between two heavy weights.

An exciting 40 minutes to come...

  13. Half-timepublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2016

    Leicester 9-6 Harlequins

Not a riveting first half but it remains very even at half time.

Leicester with a narrow lead due to three penalties from Freddie Burns and only two for Harlequins' Nick Evans. Not a lot else of note really.

Perhaps the most entertaining feature has been the similarity in the kits severely hampering my commentary efforts.

    Leicester 9-6 Harlequins

Harlequins find themselves right back on their own 10-metre line after giving away yet another penalty, but Leicester lose the line-out and Quins escape.

There's definitely room for improvement for both sides at half time.

And Harlequins are attacking without their number 10 Nick Evans at the moment who's down after a heavy tackle by Ellis Genge. A sore one in the ribs there.

  15. Penalty (Burns)published at 36 mins

    Leicester 9-6 Harlequins

Leicester swarm Charlie Matthews to force the turnover and Freddie Burns slots an easy kick to edge Tigers in front.

We've had a mixed bag from him so far when kicking out of hand, but he's been 100% from the tee.

  16. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Leicester 6-6 Harlequins

Inevitably, the scrum goes against the attacking side, and Leicester win the free-kick.

This hasn't been exciting rugby so far and it doesn't look like getting much better as the rain begins to pour down at Welford Road.

  17. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Leicester 6-6 Harlequins

    John KingstonImage source, Getty Images

Harlequins director of rugby John Kingston will be happy with his side's defensive efforts so far.

And they're into the 13th phase of possession here.

But it's very messy at the breakdown and eventually Quins are awarded the scrum.

  18. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Leicester 6-6 Harlequins

Leicester win their own line-out on the Harlequins 22 and their forwards get a march on.

But Quins come up with the ball and Tigers squander a very handy position. Neither side really into their stride yet.

  19. Penalty (Evans)published at 24 mins

    Leicester 6-6 Harlequins

Nick Evans makes it two from two with an easy kick.

A very evenly contested first quarter, particularly at the breakdown.

  20. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Leicester 6-3 Harlequins

An interesting moment there. The assistant referee puts his flag up for a Harlequins player in touch, but the game doesn't stop and we carry on.

Not sure what happened...Quins won't mind though, they win the penalty a few phases down the line and they'll have the chance the even things up.
