Newcastle have the wind in their sails as Juan Pablo Socino gives a great offload to Dominic Waldouck who continues the move. Alas Alex Tait isn't able to provide a clean pair of hands as he knocks on and thwarts an exciting foray forwards. 

It's a test of Wasps' character now as Josh Bassett sees yellow for a deliberate knock-on in the tackle. 

Wasps' discipline hasn't been pristine of late in this match and now they will have to manage with 14 men for 10 minutes. 

Wasps know that importance of keeping this attack out and it's the work of Nathan Hughes that ensures that they do. He forces the error and they are able to clear their lines and breath a sigh of relief.

As we saw in the first half Newcastle's forwards know exactly what to do with the try-line in sight and they're looking to grind down Wasps' defence. 

The visitors give away another penalty, their third in a row, and the Falcons head to the corner again!

Newcastle gain a kickable penalty but opt to go for the corner instead. It's a good decision as Wasps infringe at the line-out and Joel Hodgson boots the ball into touch again. What can they make of this?

As a former Newcastle Falcon, Jimmy Gopperth knows these parts well and he calmly slots the penalty. 

Wasps benefit from the kick off and immediately put Newcastle on the back foot. They're pressing once again and a penalty for not rolling away gives Dai Young's side the opportunity to add to their tally once again. 

The second half has started in exactly the same manner that the first finished with points galore and plenty of action. 

This time Wasps are caught offside and Joe Hodgson calmly steps up to the mark and takes the three points. 

Before he arrived on the field Jimmy Gopperth had accumulated 148 Premiership points this season, 49 more than his nearest rival. 

As he adds a converted try to that tally the question is how many can he notch up in one season!?

Newcastle throw their line-out deep to Opeti Fonua but he knocks on and Wasps are in a prime position. It seems to be a solid scrum but referee Tom Foley isn't totally happy and resets. 

Wasps are patiently keeping hold of the ball and looking for a way through Newcastle's defence. At this moment in time they can't seem to find one so Elliot Daly decides to kick through for the territory and field position. 

Joel Hodgson immediately settles Newcastle with a fabulous touch finder under immense pressure and as a result Wasps are pinned back inside their own half. 

We're back under way. There are a couple of Wasps changes to tell you about. Danny Cipriani, who was limping just before the break, has been replaced by Jimmy Gopperth and Alex Rieder has come onto the field in place of Thomas Young.

Wasps are unbeaten in their last eight fixtures with the Falcons since Newcastle’s 14-10 victory at Adams Park in May 2012. There was one draw in that time, 23-23 back in February 2015... How is this one going to go?
