Wales' interim head coach Rob Howley speaking on BBC One:

"I'm proud and delighted with the performance...up to about 75 minutes.

"Unfortunately, England know how to win. They've got a lot of confidence, and in the last five minutes we lacked a bit of composure.

"I felt England were getting on top in the last 10 to 15 minutes and they took their chance. You have to applaud them for that.

"We closed games out in the Autumn, so it's unfortunate that we didn't do that today. We kept on hurting ourselves. International rugby is about taking your chances and keeping discipline.

"Dan Biggar delivers that level of performance whether it's in training or in a Test match. He's one of the key players in the unit and he's matured to become a class player.

"It's not for me to say how people should judge the performance. We came up short and that's hugely disappointing.

Keith Smith: Poor game from England sloppy errors and poor basic play but a win is a win. God help the rest when they click!

Sophie Gallop: Yes gentleman in the pub. I do get very 'riled up' about rugby. Even for a 'small lass'!

Cameron Cowie: What a Test match. Hit for hit, kick for kick, on the edge of your seat rugby.

England's match winner Elliot Daly: "I just pinned my ears back. It was a lovely ball by Owen Farrell,  I was just going for that corner, I had no other thought but to run as fast as possible to that corner.

"It was a massive moment, we really needed that try. As soon as we got it, all the boys knew we were half way there, had done the hard bit and just had to kill the game off.

"We believe in ourselves, we know what we need to do."

He added: "This was my first time playing here in Cardiff, the atmosphere was one I will never forget."

Courtney Perks: 80 minutes of blood, sweat and fantastic rugby! Heroic effort from both squads.

Andy Sarratt: Fantastic resilience from the red rose, what a match, what a result!

Michael Blyth: Ross Moriarty tackles like a train. By that I mean with great force and normally late.

  8. Howley - 'It's always going to be tough'published at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2017

Rob Howley, Wales head coach, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live: A Test match is about nailing those moments when you come under pressure and we had four minutes where we lost it.

I am disappointed with the last ten minutes, we lost our composure, but we have to take the positives. When you've got a side that is unbeaten like they are, it's always going to be tough.

Elliot Daly, England's match winner, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live: There wasn't much thought going through my head I just ran to the line. We've got the belief that if we do our roles, we can win, even when we are behind. Obviously it's a massive win, but we've now got two weeks to prepare for Italy.

Shaun Summers: When you feel knackered just watching the game, you know its been a good one!

Sam Hughes: Dylan Hartley a great captain. But Jamie George a better hooker. What's more important?

John Blenkharn: Quality test match. If the Lions can replicate the intensity from both sides they'll have a chance in NZ

    Rob Jones
Former Wales scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

There's a huge disappointment. But the positives are, I don't think Wales have played that well for four, five or even six years. They created more, they played with more freedom. They have to take so much belief from that performance.

England head coach Eddie Jones speaking on BBC One:

"I always thought we could win the game, although we didn't have much ball apart from the first 20 minutes. It was pure grit and the players believe we can be the best team in the world.

"Elliot Daly is a lovely player, we're still not sure of his best position, but he's handy on the wing and his finish today was first class.

"It was a great atmosphere, that was a proper Test match and a proper Test match crowd.

"Wales played well today, they defended really well, but we had five starting players out and it just shows how the squad is developing for us.

"We'll go back into training next week and then we want to put Italy to the cleaners."

England fly-half Owen Farrell speaking on BBC One:

"In glimpses we showed what we can do. It's a brilliant result and we can look at where to improve now.

"When you're out there you just think about your job. It felt as if it [the winning try] was coming, but you have to be able to execute when the chance comes, and we did.

"The last couple of games we've found a way. It's not the finished article but we keep going and keep getting better."

England head coach Eddie Jones speaking on BBC Radio 5 live: "I thought our first 20 minutes were really good, but we were one or two tackles away from our best.

"We were always in the game. We always thought if we got possession we could get back into the game."
