England are in a winning frame of mind. They found enough nous and played smart enough to get in position and made the try happen at the end.

England head coach Eddie Jones speaking on BBC Radio 5 live: I think we have used all of our get out of jail cards. I never think we are going to lose, but we don't want all our games to be that tight.

Defending champions and top of the table.

Eddie Jones's Midas touch continues as he racks up his 15th straight win as England coach.

Scotland could over-take England with a convincing enough win away to France tomorrow however.

Wales lock Alun Wyn Jones speaking on BBC One:

"It was a 75 minute performance from us. I think that was the difference in the end. Ultimately we didn't maintain that intensity for the whole of the second-half."

  6. 'Hell of a match'published at 18:43 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2017

    Wales 16-21 England

England captain Dylan Hartley speaking on BBC One: "We showed good examples of what we can do today, though I would have preferred to wrap up a bit earlier.

The finishers came on for us and showed great composure. There are parts of the game where we need to improve, we need to learn, but we'll take that one.

Wales are a hell of a side and from minute one they showed how physical they are. It was a hell of a Test match.

That game was absolutely superb. On that evidence, there is no gap now between the Southern Hemisphere teams.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's wait until next autumn at least before making that call.

Where it all went wrong for Wales.

Jonathan Davies gets the ball behind his try line and has to put it into touch. It can only reach George Ford and Elliot Daly does the rest.

The chase was not up to much either from the red shirts. Understandable perhaps after 75 minutes, but that puts an even higher premium on Jonathan Davies finding touch.

I've never watched an England side with only 40-60% territory, under that much pressure, win a game. They didn't even nick it, they worked it.

England's man of the match Joe Launchbury: "It was pretty quick and very physical. It's always good to come to this stadium and to get the result is very pleasing.

Joe Launchbury had a stormer in the England engine room.

The lock made a game high 20 tackles, almost twice as many as his nearest England teammate.

18 carries for 16m made not sound much, but he kept the ball moving forward and England ticking over.
