    Sale 26-24 Newcastle

That's a big result for Sale Sharks as they manage to secure all four points at home. Steve Diamond's side were 23-12 up but a brace of breakaway tries from Vereniki Goneva meant they headed into the final minutes 23-24 down.

Will Addison was the man to step up with the final points and that meant that Newcastle had to settle for a pair of losing bonus-points.

    Sale 26-24 Newcastle

Newcastle are enjoying all of the ball but Sale Sharks are working their socks off in defence and force a forward pass.

We're heading into the final minute so this could be it for Sale, they may just have done enough.

  5. Penalty (Addison)published at 22:03 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Sale 26-24 Newcastle

Sale Sharks forwards earn their crust with that scrum as their powerful surge earns the penalty.

Will Addison immediately points to the posts and nails the kick with five minutes to go.

    Sale 23-24 Newcastle

Sale Sharks are giving it everything to try and get the decisive score in this match but we've a break in play as Calum Green has taken a knock to the head and his welfare is paramount.

Green leaves the field and Evan Olmstead arrives with just over seven minutes remaining.

    Quote Message

"There were some big moments in there - Bath got a penalty try with a scrum going towards the line, we had a maul doing the same and only got a yellow card and a clear forward pass for the fourth try doesn't even go upstairs. It was one of those close games that could have gone either way but we'll look at our moments where we could have done much better."

Jim Mallinder, Northampton director of rugby

    Bath 32-30 Northampton

    Quote Message

"What a great game of rugby. Northampton were outstanding in the second half and we were lucky to get the win in the end. We talked at half-time about trying to squeeze them physically and we did that well. Our defence was a notch up today and we had the composure to keep our heads and get the win in the end."

Todd Blackadder, Bath director of rugby

    Sale 23-24 Newcastle

Dom Waldouck wins a vital turnover for Newcastle when Sale are close to scoring. Joel Hodgson gets the clearing kick away and pushes back the hosts into Falcons' half.

We're heading into the final ten minutes and there's a tense finish ahead.

  10. try

Try (Goneva, con Takulua)published at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Sale 23-24 Newcastle

It's that man Vereniki Goneva again!

This time the winger pounces on the intercept and runs the length of the field - his wheels carry him through and the conversion from Sonatane Takulua puts the Falcons ahead.

  11. try

Try (Goneva)published at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Sale 23-17 Newcastle

Some smart finishing by Vereniki Goneva has put Falcons right back in the game. Another very good finish by the Fijian.

    In bonus point territory now.

    Bristol 8-42 Harlequins

Tim Swiel adds one final penalty to Harlequins' tally and as the final whistle blows they've finally shaken off the travel sickness that has plagued them this season.

It was a tough night for Bristol and they'll need to dig deep ahead of travelling to Welford Road next weekend.

  13. try

Try (Chisholm, con Swiel)published at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Bristol 8-39 Harlequins

It's simple rugby from Harlequins as they get their ball carriers in motion and James Chisholm drives over the line.

Tim Swiel makes sure of the conversion with three minutes to go.

    And breathe...

Goodness what a thrilling finish. Bath were largely dominant but Northampton love playing at the Rec and came roaring back mid-way through the second half. It looked as if it would be a fifth win in six years for the Saints in Somerset but the home side scrambled their way to a last-gasp victory.

  15. Try reviewpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Bristol 8-32 Harlequins

Harlequins are looking for their fifth try with five minutes to go but the ruling is that they're held up by Billy Searle so it's a 5m scrum to the visitors.

  16. try

Try (Evans)published at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Sale 23-12 Newcastle

Bit of enterprise from Sale who look sharp in the second-half. Bryn Evans showing a bit of back-style skills to dummy and cross for Sale.

    Superb effort. Sale pulling away.

  17. Penalty (Priestland)published at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Bath 32-30 Northampton

Bath get a huge drive on at the scrum and win a penalty.

Over to Rhys Priestland, five yards or so in from the left-hand touchline, this could win it...it's hooked wide of the left-hand post.

But James Wilson makes a complete hash of the clearance under pressure and Bath throw themselves into the ruck...and win another penalty!

Priestland again, this a bit easier, and it's over!! Bath have won it at the death.

  18. try

Try (Gibson, con Myler)published at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Bath 29-30 Northampton

But just like that Northampton lead again. Bath drift offside from a clearance kick and Saints are back to within 10-yards of the clubhouse try-line. Three phases off the driving maul and Jamie Gibson reaches for Saints' third try.

This is the easiest of Stephen Myler's conversion attempts tonight and he makes no mistake.

    What a game this is!

  19. try

Try (Cook, con Priestland)published at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Bath 29-23 Northampton

Oh I say what a score!

Bath retake the lead courtesy of Chris Cook. He receives the ball wide on the left touchline, breaks one tackle and chips into the Saints' 22, he meets his kick with a volley into the in-goal area and beats Ahsee Tuala for the try.

Rhys Priestland picks a great time to add the extras from the bonus-point score.

  20. try

Try (Ratuniyarawa, con Myler)published at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2017

    Bath 22-23 Northampton

Ben Tapuai sees his kick charged down and Northampton get loose ball to play with. Nafi Tuitavake bursts into the Bath 22 and suddenly there is open space on the left-wing. Tom Homer makes a tackle but there is no stopping Api Ratuniyarawa, the mighty Fijian barges over.

And yet again Stephen Myler has nailed a gorgeous conversion from the touchline. Northampton have such an impressive recent record at the Rec and now they lead again.
