The first piece of play sees Paul Doran Jones sent to the sin bin and that's exactly what his side could have done without.

Billy Burns is stretchered from the field with the crowd showing their support for him and we all wish him the very best. 

Mako Vunipola has been making himself really busy on his first outing since October with 13 carries and two offloads made. They're stats that Eddie Jones will be pleased with from his position in the stands.

We've a break in play while Billy Burns is receiving medical treatment. During that last defensive set the fly-half flew heroically into a tackle but caught his head on the wrong side. Naturally the medics are taking their time to examine him and we hope that it isn't too serious.  

Here's the Saracens that we're familiar with as their forward pack rumble forwards with ease. 

The visitors are pressing towards the line with real purpose but Gloucester have halted their opponents on the line four times and counting before heading back to a penalty. 

Gloucester are penalised for all being offside and as a result it hands Alex Lozowski the chance to get his side off the mark in this second half. 

Needless to say they are three vital points to stem the tide of the Cherry and Whites' endeavour. 

Tom Marshall is everywhere this evening, so much so that we might need confirmation that there's not two of him!

This time he breaks but gets a little over excited and puts the ball out on the full. Clearly not the ideal finish to the move but we're pretty sure that's not going to be his last break of the evening.

There's a spot of concern for Saracens as Sean Maitland is now receiving treatment after trying to evade the clutches of Jeremy Thrush. 

Meanwhile the rest of the players take a well-earned breather before Wayne Barnes sets up the scrum.

Sean Maitland breaks through the middle of the field and Alex Lozowski continues the march forward before Ben Morgan halts the fly-half's full back. 

A chip through to continue the attack is dealt with well by Tom Marshall and Gloucester clear their lines. 

The same intent and tempo is there from the hosts and it takes a Sean Maitland mark for them to get their hands on the ball.

Gloucester's intensity is higher than we've seen it all season and they're on the money in every regard so far tonight.

There's a new face onto the field after the break - Kelly Brown is on in place of Schalk Burger. 

The hosts are unchanged and Billy Burns gets us back under way. 

They'll be plenty to discuss in both dressing rooms at the break and you sense that the hosts will be the happier of the two. 

Can they keep their momentum building? It's almost time to find out as both teams head back onto the field.

Fast-paced, physical and tight. This game has all the ingredients needed for a superb second half.

Gloucester have given one of their best displays of the season so far - since the opening 10 minutes, that is. Their only regret will be that they're not further ahead.

Billy Burns' boot has them three points up at the break but it could easily be a 10-point cushion.

Saracens started with a SchalkBrits try before Tom Marshall - one of the standout players of the half - struck back for the hosts. 

From the tee the boots of Marcelo Bosch, Alex Lozowski and Billy Burns have all been on song and we've an intriguing second 40 minutes ahead.

Brad Barritt puts in a big hit on David Halaifonua and it's just a little over-zealous. Wayne Barnes signals for the penalty and Billy Burns nails it to end the half. 

Gloucester are finishing with real intent, David Halaifonua charges through on his own and he's stopped just metres short from the line. 

It's a great tackle and rip of the ball from Sean Maitland - a try saver perhaps - and they attempt to clear their lines. 

Saracens disrupt a Gloucester line-out but it doesn't quite work out as planned as they fumble it into touch. 

As the clock ticks down it's the hosts with the ball, can they add a few vital points before the break?

Six minutes to the break and it's all square as Billy Burns rewards his side for their sustained pressure.
