The joy on the faces of the Worcester players says it all.

A gigantic victory against bottom side Bristol ends the weekend's Premiership action, on a day where Saracens showed they're still well in the race for a top-two finish by winning at Newcastle.

Interim Bristol head coach Mark Tainton told BT Sport:

"We let ourselves down a lot today - we didn't play to our potential.

"We had a poor start and it got worse from there.

"It makes it more difficult [to stay up] but we're not going to throw the towel in - we've got to get a win against Gloucester, it's as simple as that."

Bryce Heem scored two tries as Worcester boosted their hopes of Premiership survival with an emphatic win over relegation rivals Bristol.

England number eight Billy Vunipola returned from injury as Saracens secured a bonus-point win at Newcastle.

Tries from Michael Rhodes, Alex Lozowski and Chris Ashton put Sarries 23-6 up early in the second half before Dominic Waldouck replied for the hosts.

Lozowski's second and Nathan Earle's score made it 35-13 but Newcastle rallied late on, with converted tries from Vereniki Goneva and Mark Wilson.

Worcester Warriors scrum-half Francois Hougaard told BT Sport:

"We worked hard this week to fix the small mistakes we've made, as teams have played off our mistakes.

"It wasn't perfect today but at least we got the five points.

"I try to turn the pressure into positive energy and work with it."

Jubilation at Sixways as Worcester unceremoniously thump the ball out of play to end this match.

It's a hugely significant triumph for the home side, who move seven points ahead of bottom side Bristol, who now need a minor miracle to stay up.

Six tries in all for the victors.

Now that's a more convincing-looking scoreline for Warriors.

A Bristol move breaks down in the middle and former South Africa international Wynand Olivier is the man to punish the visitors.

He's the quickest to a kick forward and scores the try, while Ryan Mills is off-target with his conversion attempt.

The hosts aren't giving Bristol a sniff, and are running down the clock effectively.

Bristol now have the ball, something's got to happen now for them.

Warriors are doing their utmost to kill this match, and ensure their relegation rivals leave Sixways empty-handed.

After a spell of possession and territory, the hosts knock on and Bristol have a scrum in their own 22.

There's still a lot riding on the closing stages here, if not the result.

There's a reason why Tom Varndell is the Premiership's all-time leading try-scorer.

He's extremely quick, and after intercepting a pass near his own 22 he races almost the length of the pitch to score.

Bryce Heem starts to catch him but does not quite make it, and Jason Woodward converts.

One more converted try and Bristol have two bonus points, which would certainly soften the blow of defeat.

At long last, the visitors have their first points of the second half.

Jason Woodward gets to within two metres of the line and Max Crumpton does the rest, bulldozing his way over to touch down.

It goes to the TMO but there's nothing wrong with that try, and Woodward converts.

Bristol had shown promise prior to that sucker-punch, but surely even a losing bonus point is out of reach for them now.

With 14 minutes to go it looks like being about pride, and how much fight they have left.

Mark Tainton's side are deep in the Worcester half once more, but that hasn't resulted in points often enough.

Warriors have sealed the five-point victory.

Bryce Heem is firstly stopped inches short of the line by Bristol's Tom Varndell but Worcester rebuild and Josh Adams throws wide to Heem, who cannot be stopped this time.

It's his second try of the afternoon and although Ryan Mills misses the conversion, the visitors are taking off some of their key players which tells you all you need to know.

Dangerous winger Tom Varndell is eventually given the ball out wide, but he's in a cul-de-sac as several Warriors players swarm over him and get him into touch.

The hosts almost lose the resulting lineout but regain their composure and give themselves some temporary respite from Bristol's pressure.

This is Bristol's best period of pressure at Sixways, but still there has been no score in the second half.

Tom Varndell is forced out of play by Bryce Heem as he closes on the try-line, while Nick Schonert puts in a big challenge to stop another wave of attack from the visitors.

Remember, Bristol are bottom and risk being cut adrift if they can't salvage something from this game.

Chris Pennell gets in a promising position out wide for the hosts, but can't quite keep the ball out of touch.

Welshman Josh Adams then goes on a run for Warriors, who are looking comfortable here.
