Gloucester fly-half Billy Twelvetrees puts boot to ball and the second 40 minutes is under way at Kingston Park.

    Sale 21-14 Worcester

Bit of a broken record at the moment in a kick-happy second half.

Sale are now pressing deep into Worcester's half and for the first time in a while, one side manages to hold possession for a few phases.

    Sale 21-14 Worcester

A series of line-outs and box kicks between the two sides see danger come and go with no real harm done.

    Sale 21-14 Worcester

Sale are playing expansive rugby right now.

But not neat rugby. Sadly for them, not neat.

They push their luck on the left flank and Josh Beaumont is rushed into touch as Francois Hougaard gets across to cover the danger.

    Sale 21-14 Worcester

Mike Haley dazzled at the end of the first half with that try, and he looks to do the same early in the second.

He takes a neat pass from AJ MacGinty and races off!

The attack comes to a end with that man MacGinty kncocking on after Chris Pennell managed to stop Haley from going all the way.

    Newcastle 7-7 Gloucester

And there we have it. The half-time whistle goes and despite Newcastle's domination of possession, there is nothing to divide the two sides.

    Sale 21-14 Worcester

And we are back under way at the AJ Bell Stadium.

So, just how big is the mountain for Worcester to climb in the second half.

Hint. They come with serious baggage...

The Warriors have not won at Sale in seven successive matches since their 17-9 victory at Edgeley Park in November 2008.

So yeah. Hard work ahead for Gary Gold's men.

Try (May, con Twelvetrees)published at 20:47 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Newcastle 7-7 Gloucester

Three minutes into injury time at the end of the first half and Gloucester's first sustained attack results in their first points.

Tom Savage gets to within a metre of the line and when the ball is recycled, Willi Heinz finds Jonny May and the England wing slips two tackles to score.

Billy Twelvetrees adds a difficult conversion from out wide and we're level.

    HT: Sale 21-14 Worcester

The lead has been swapped three times in an absorbing contest at the AJ Bell Stadium in a game where there is little more than pride at stake.

Yes, victory for Worcester will all but ensure their Premiership status next season, but they look a carefree side out there.

Sale have had themselves an exhausting half. Sam James with two tries, while a third from Mike Haley just before the break edged the hosts ahead.

Scrum-half Willie Heinz has been Gloucester's outstanding performer so far but his side have spent too much time on the back foot.

Mike Delany has the Falcons on the attack again with a kick into the corner but Charlie Sharples is on hand to snuff out the danger.

    Sale 21-14 Worcester

Sale lead for the second time tonight and it is Mike Haley who blazes over for the hosts.

He punches a hole through Worcester's defensive line. Incredibly well timed run from 30 yards out!

The Warriors defence had nothing but midnight shadows to clutch at!

  15. try

Try (Socino, con Delany)published at 20:30 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Newcastle 7-0 Gloucester

Falcons have had all the pressure and they are finally rewarded when Juan Pablo Socino darts over from short range and Mike Delany adds the extras.

Socino was disappointed moments ago, but Kingston Park is a happy place now.

Newcastle's celebrations were muted to say the least so it's no surprise that the score was not awarded.

But the Falcons will have an attacking scrum.

    Sale 14-14 Worcester

Well, Sale have shown a number of times now that they are happy to build pressure and patiently march toward the line.

But the crowd roars as Sam James finds space again and charges up field. Worcester scramble and contain the hosts.

  20. Try reviewpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Newcastle 0-0 Gloucester

Newcastle are over the line but has Juan Pablo Socino got the ball down?

Referee Luke Pearce goes to the TMO but he won't see much himself as the big screen in the corner goes off. "Anyone got 50p for the meter?", asks BBC Newcastle commentator Ian Smith.
