    Sale 14-14 Worcester

Sale may have struggled to make an impression in the early minutes, but they are making Worcester work incredibly hard in defence.

They hold strong and Worcester clear.

    Sale 14-14 Worcester

Sam James comes up with his and Sale's second try of the night, touching down after the hosts went through 11 phases.

The Sharks certainly poked at Worcester's defence from every angle.

In the end it took a chip and chase from James and a lucky deflection, it must be said, to help the hosts level things up at 14-14.

    Sale 7-14 Worcester

From a line-out inside Worcester's half, Sale patiently go through the phases and try build something.

From left to right and back again, they look for a defensive weakness.

    Sale 7-14 Worcester

Oh it absolutely looked on again for Worcester.

Perry Humphreys and Francois Hougaard break away down the left for the Warriors.

The ball is dished inside and finds Ben Te'o, who spills as he is challenged. Exhilarating stuff.

  7. Missed penalty (Delany)published at 20:16 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Newcastle 0-0 Gloucester

Falcons are awarded a penalty for a late hit on Vereniki Goneva but Mike Delany's penalty comes back off the post.

The Falcons seize the loose ball and hammer away at the visitors' defence.

    Sale 7-14 Worcester

Worcester are playing with extreme cool in defence and a incredible sense of purpose going forward.

Not looking one bit like a side second from bottom.

Newcastle's director of rugby Dean Richards is looking relaxed. And why not as the Falcons aren't fighting a relegation battle this season?

It's been a helter-skelter start but when Gloucester scrum-half Willi Heinz scoots free from a line-out and frees Charlie Sharples, Micky Young is there with a try-saving tackle.

    What was I saying!!!

Worcester's pack really got after Sale there.

And after the hosts were penalised at the maul, Worcester again ask questions with a powerful driving effort.

This time, it ends with Joe Taufete'e crashing over the line.

    Sale 7-7 Worcester

Worcester tear away again and quick as a flash there are in sight of the try line, with Josh Adams getting the visitors into the 22 with a huge run down the left.

A few line-outs now and that pressure is again building. The screws being turned...

    Sale 7-7 Worcester

The game has really opened up now.

Sale have Worcester pinned inside their 22...

But there is a handling error as the ball is moved with pace out wide to the right. Tom Curry the man to let the ball and opportunity slip.

  14. Kick-offpublished at 20:04 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Newcastle 0-0 Gloucester

Newcastle fly-half Mike Delaney steps up and gets the Falcons' meeting with Gloucester under way.

It's a physical start too by the home side, but the Cherry and Whites' early defence is solid enough.

    Sale 7-7 Worcester

And just as I was saying Worcester are being frustrated, they carve Sale up for their first try of the night.

Perry Humphreys is the one to make the initial break, Ben Te'o is on hand and helps send Francois Hougaard over. Easy. As. You. Like!

Ryan Mills' conversion levels things 7-7 after 11 minutes.

Things have settled right back to what they were.

Worcester plugging away and making metres up field. They have a line-out on the 22m line and are again pushing for a breakthrough.

And like a broken record, they are repelled...

  19. try

Try (James, con MacGinty)published at 7 mins

    Sale 7-0 Worcester

Well, there was a delay there as the referee wanted a few looks at the replay.

But it really was a clear-cut try as Denny Solomona sped away and dished off for Sam James to score.

That was Solomona's first involvement in the game. Pretty special.
