Defending champions + world number one + Grand Slam winners = World Cup 2017 favourites.

England are very much the team to beat in Ireland, but Pool B won't be an easy ride.

They've got the USA to contend with, the first World Cup winners and three-time finalists, along with Italy who return to the tournament after a 15-year absence.

World number eight Spain are England's first obstacle and the Red Roses have chosen to rest most of their experienced players for their opener. In fact, there's 392 caps on the bench.

There are 12 teams involved: England, Wales, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and France.
