Northampton run in three tries as they impressively beat East Midlands rivals Leicester for the first time since December 2014.

Tomorrow Gary Gold's Worcester will be looking to get their first win of the season, however a Wasps side that notched up a half-century of points last weekend stand in their way.

Perry Humphreys and Pierce Phillips come into the Warriors' XV while Dai Young hands Marcus Watson a start on the right wing and Guy Thompson arrives into their back row.

Well what a day of Premiership rugby that was!

From the drama at The Recreation Ground to the intensity of Franklin's Gardens and everywhere in between it's been a big old Saturday.

What a difference seven days makes for Northampton Saints.

There's no doubt that it will have been a really difficult week at the club after such a tough opening weekend but they turned it around in style against their great rivals.

Once again Leicester weren't given any space to work and they now head home to face Gloucester Rugby next weekend with a bit of pressure on their shoulders.

Telusa Veainu breaks away on the left-hand wing and he finds Jonny May outside of him.

The Leicester winger puts boot to ball and then charges past Ahsee Tuala to snatch a hand on the ball. It's a world-class finish but won't console his side too much.

In the final moments Leicester are looking to build in the middle of the park but as they have been for the majority of the game they've been stifled by their opponents' defensive intensity. Can they find a way through?

Courtney Lawes leaves the field to a standing ovation from the home fans and a former team mate of his is highly impressed too.

With the clock running down it's looking more and more challenging for Leicester to pick up anything from this derby day on the road.

There's smiles on the faces of the home fans and their side have the ball in hand.

This time around Harry Mallinder's radar is slightly off kilter and that could have been three crucial points to try and take the game away from the visitors.

Another crucial penalty at the scrum gives George Ford the opportunity to go for the corner. He makes significant distance with the kick but not for the first time this season Leicester's lineout goes astray and the field position is squandered.

Leicester are now up to a full compliment of players as Mike Williams' sin-bin period is over.

Meanwhile George North takes his leave after a bit of a knock and Ben Foden replaces the Welshman in the back line.

In front of Eddie Jones it's been a big shift from the Saints and England captain.

We're into the final quarter and there's still plenty of life left in this game yet.

Leicester are being contained in the middle of the field right now and it takes Ben Youngs' boot to gain them metres.

Initally Northampton deal with his box kick before Courtney Lawes is penalised for diving off his feet.

George Ford secures the three points and Tigers have two minutes left down to 14 men.

It's a massive shove from the Tigers pack that delivers a penalty. The shrill of JP Doyle's whistle is a welcome one and George Ford clears to the half-way line.

Northampton swing the ball wide with ease and Ahsee Tuala finds George North on the outside. The winger charges forwards but Tuala's pass went forwards and it's a Tigers' scrum close to the 22.

Leicester's task has just got that little bit harder as Mike Williams is handed a yellow card for a no arms tackle.

JP Doyle had already spoken to the Tigers about their discipline in that area so, for a team offence, Williams heads for a 10-minute rest.
