  6. 'Priestland pulling the strings'published at 14:51 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

    HT: Bath 14-0 Saracens

    Chris Jones
BBC 5 live rugby union reporter at the Rec

Bath are good value for their lead at the break.

Saracens' offloading game, so lethal at Twickenham last weekend, has been a bit loose, while Bath have attacked with slickness and accuracy, with Rhys Priestland - a peripheral figure when George Ford was at the club - pulling the strings with composure.

Will Saracens look to empty their potent bench early on in the second half?

  7. Penalty (Priestland)published at 14:51 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

    Bath 14-0 Saracens

The last word of the first 40 minutes goes to Bath as Rhys Priestland strikes this penalty slightly sweeter than the last.

The penalty comes about as Schalk Brits is caught accidentally offside and hooker isn't happy about it.

With 60 seconds before half-time Bath are pinning Saracens back and with the lineout to come it looks as if Mark McCall's side will head into the sheds without a single point on the board.

    Bath 11-0 Saracens

Sunshine and showers down in Devon this afternoon as London Irish take their Premiership return to Exeter.

Not many would've predicted the defending champions would come into this off the back of a defeat and the new boys with an eye-catching opening round win under their belts.

The Exiles set foot on a ground where they have won just once and that was on their first visit in October 2017.

Chiefs will be desperate to right the wrongs of last week's reverse at a Gloucester and have thrown Jack Nowell a start in a bid to get themselves back on track.

    Bath 8-0 Saracens

Jonny: Very good attacking play from Bath there. Stretching Saracens from one side of the pitch to the other. Louw is a tank.

Gavin Simpson: With Farrell Williams on the bench, maybe Bath will 'Get Lucky', or maybe Saracens will be 'Happy' later?

I see what you've done there Owen, even if it is Pharrell Williams - I'm sure we'll see Owen Farrell and Liam Williams at some stage...

    Bath 3-0 Saracens

At Twickenham Saracens' handling was a key part of their success however in this opening quarter Saracens are looking a little bit rattled in the red zone.

Vincent Kock is the latest to knock-on with the line in sight after a slightly unsympathetic pass from Michael Rhodes. Bath clear well.

  18. 'Awesome' Bath strike firstpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

The Prince of Wales putting the cherry on the top of some great pressure.

It was awesome, a couple of guys are getting up disgruntled, a couple of Sarries defenders are looking around wondering what happened there.

  19. Drop-goal (Priestland)published at 17 mins

    Bath 3-0 Saracens

Rhys Priestland is pulling all of the strings so far today. His cross-field kick finds Matt Banahan and the experienced winger continues the charge.

Ben Obano adds further metres and comes close however as Bath are halted Priestland decides to secure three points and sweetly strikes the drop-goal.

  20. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Bath 0-0 Saracens

Saracens are struggling to gain any early possession and instead Bath's backs are eating up the metres well and putting their visitors under pressure.

Another blistering break down the left-wing is halted give metres out. It leaves Schalk Brits with a pressured line-out however the experience South African nails it and finally Saracens clear their lines.
