It must be a brilliant side to be playing in at the moment. Scotland are full of confidence and I'm delighted for John Barclay, who has been outstanding recently.

If we can have our best players fit and playing well ready for the Six Nations next year, then maybe 2018 could be a really successful year for Scotland.

Gus Jones Jewellers: Ouch! What a beating! @Scotlandteam, external that is a cricket score and absolute domination over the poor old @qantaswallabies, external - say, cricket score and domination over Aussies? Let's hope that's not the last time we say that this weekend please...?

  4. Townsend praises 'amazing result'published at 16:30 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2017

    Scotland 53-24 Australia

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend on BBC One: "It's an amazing result. To score this many points against the world number three side is brilliant. Of course you have to take into account the red card but we kept the mindset of wanting to work hard and we got our rewards.

We showed what we were about and it takes a lot to show that in attack. It wasn't perfect but it suited us to have a one-man advantage.

On Stuart Hogg's absence: "It shows we've got a good depth. Byron McGuigan was brilliant on his first start. And the team is resilient. They showed that last week against New Zealand."

  6. 'Incredibly disappointing'published at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2017

    Scotland 53-24 Australia

Australia captain Michael Hooper: It's an incredibly disappointing way to finish the season. A real low point and disappointing to send off influential players like Stephen Moore. Congratulations to Scotland though and the crowd were fantastic for them.

On the red card: We'll have to review it when we get back but you live and die by your own decisions. We had to fight our way out of the situation we found ourselves in and unfortunately we weren't able to do so.

It's been a rollercoaster year for us as a team. It's tough to take.

England attack, Samoa turn it over. 15 minutes of the second half and that's all we've seen.

Eddie Jones has seen enough and on comes Harry Williams, with Dan Cole heading to the bench.

    England 22-7 Samoa

This Samoan side are absolutely killing the breakdown. This is a different side out there in the second half.

Elliot Daly places the ball back but a wall of blue envelops him and Samoa are awarded another penalty at the breakdown. England need to get numbers in these rucks, they're being bulldozed at the moment.

Tim Nanai-Williams and Jack Lam combine to turn the ball over. Alex Lozowski gets isolated in the tackle and the visitors earn a penalty.

    More drama.

Byron McGuigan is racing over to the corner to touch the ball down and Kurtley Beale gets there first, slapping the ball away.

It's going to go down as a deliberate knock-on. Beale isn't happy as he's sin-binned for the second game in a row.

Australia down to 13 and Scotland have a dangerous line-out.
