    Bath finally have a try.

Jonathan Joseph hurries up to disturb an Exeter attack, the ball goes loose, Joseph hacks forward into open field, collects and runs to the line.

He takes the drop-kick himself because Bath have just over 10 minutes to find three more tries for a bonus point or two.

    Gloucester 10-3 London Irish

    Gloucester turning the screws.

They have a series of line-outs close to the line. This is all the result of a spilled high kick from London Irish.

Jake Polledri and Jeremy Thrush hacked the ball forward and Alex Lewington comes scampering across to sweet the ball out.

Bath simply can't breach this Exeter defence.

Zach Mercer carries into the Exeter 22 and a penalty sends them into the corner.

Two scrums result but a cross-kick from Chris Cook can't quite find Matt Banahan on the right wing.

Exeter clear and then break with James Short who sprints towards the left corner but is just caught by Anthony Watson.

  8. try

Try - Gloucester 7-0 London Irishpublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

Lewis Ludlow (11 mins), con Twelvetrees

It proved to be the simplest of finishes in the end.

Lewis Ludlow runs free, breaking the line after taking a Billy Burns pass. There was a hint of a forward pass, but replays showed it to be good.

From in front of the posts, Billy Twelvetrees adds the extras.

We go back to the television match official, but it looks as if Lewis Ludlow has put hosts Gloucester ahead.

  10. try

Try: Exeter 35-3 Bathpublished at 54 mins

    Thomas Waldrom, con Gareth Steenson

The difference between each side's attack is chalk and cheese.

Bath labour through phases and eventually Semesa Rokoduguni is tackled into touch.

Exeter then make swift work to get over the gain line in successive phases.

Ollie Woodburn and Sam Skinner break up the right wing before Thomas Waldrom bursts through to finish from 20 yards out for Exeter's fifth try.

Waldrom now has tries against every Premiership club and he walks off to a grand hand.

Sam Simmonds replaces him - handy - and Jack Nowell also comes on - ditto - a most-welcome return for the England wing.

    Gloucester 0-0 London Irish

After a few replays are watched back, there looked to have been a knock on by Tom Fowlie in the build up to that try.

It was adventurous stuff by the lowly visitors. On this occasion, however, it comes to nothing.

  13. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Exeter 28-3 Bath

First penalty to Exeter, second to Bath and the visitors clear.

Luke Cowan-Dickie, in his first game since the Premiership final, is replaced.

    Gloucester 0-0 London Irish

There is early movement on the bench for London Irish.

Tom Fowlie comes on as Luke McLean, the Italian international, has a head injury assessment.

It has been a sedate opening few minutes, with Irish momentarily pinned back.

  16. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Exeter 28-3 Bath

As you were really. Centres Ian Whitten and Sam Hill both find holes in midfield and Exeter are quickly within 10 yards.

It's patient and controlled as they attack the line but this time they're held up.

Will be a scrum five though...
