London Irish are looking for their first Premiership win since the opening weekend of the campaign.

For them to remedy that today, they would need to become the first side to beat Gloucester at Kingsholm this season and end the Cherry and Whites' four match winning run in the process.

Fair to say they will be right up against it.

Now after that minor detour into rugby league territory... let's get back to the rugby union order of the day.

  4. Australia beat England to win World Cuppublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    Australia 6-0 England

England may have a flawless rugby union record against Australia under Eddie Jones, but in rugby league the Kangaroos reign supreme.

The Aussies edged out England in a tight and nervy Rugby League World Cup final this morning to retain the trophy at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

England produced a dogged and resilient performance in their first final for 22 years, but the Kangaroos held on to win an 11th world title.

Safe to say, plenty for Todd Blackadder to think about over a quarter of orange.

His side have simply not been in this game at all.

Tries from Luke Cowan-Dickie, James Short, Mitch Lees and Don Armand have a bonus-point in the bag already for Exeter.

    HT: Exeter 28-3 Bath

Bath with some rare possession inside the Exeter 22 after Anthony Watson cuts a good line.

But the visitors pick and drive to little effect and are eventually turned over to end the half.

  8. try

Try: Exeter 28-3 Bathpublished at 35 mins

    Don Armand, con Gareth Steenson

Double-figure phases for Exeter again and they win a penalty on the 22.

Now chasing the bonus-point, they kick to the corner and the Exeter maul rolls up towards the line.

Nice and patient again battering away at the line before Don Armand reaches over to secure the bonus point.

Easy conversion for Gareth Steenson and what a first half this is for Exeter.

  9. try

Try: Exeter 21-3 Bathpublished at 30 mins

    Mitch Lees, con Gareth Steenson

No sooner have Bath got on the board they find themselves further behind.

Exeter reclaim the restart and Ian Whitten carries into the 22.

From close range, it's no contest and this time, Mitch Lees dives over for the Chiefs' third try.

    The conversion is no bother.

    Exeter 14-0 Bath

Jonny: Poor from Watson. Bites in too early, not trusting Rokoduguni to take White, and a weak tackle. Exeter doing to Bath what Bath did to Quins last week.

  11. Penalty: Exeter 14-3 Bathpublished at 28 mins

    Freddie Burns

Exeter penalised for a push in the line-out and Freddie Burns lines up the kick from just outside the 22 on the 10-yard line.

No gimme but it's straight between the posts and Bath are on the board.

    Exeter 14-0 Bath

Aha, Bath have remembered they aren't just here for defensive practice.

Clever hands from Ben Tapuai almost releases Jonathan Joseph but Exeter stand firm.

Eventually, the ball comes loose, black shirts swarm in and create the turnover.

Bath haven't had a foothold on the game so far.

  13. try

Try: Exeter 14-0 Bathpublished at 16 mins

    James Short, con Gareth Steenson

Exeter are almost turned over on half-way but back they come again.

They swing the play left, Ollie Woodburn holds the defense and releases James Short who shrugs off Anthony Watson to score.

A little too easy that and Exeter are totally dominant so far.

Gareth Steenson's touchline conversion is a beauty.

  14. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Exeter 7-0 Bath

Silly penalty given away by Bath, caught offside from a kick, and Exeter kick into the Bath 22.

Another penalty comes from the line-out and now Exeter have a set piece just five yards out.

But the line-out is defended superbly and Bath survive. For now.

  15. try

Try: Exeter 7-0 Bathpublished at 8 mins

    Luke Cowan-Dickie, con Gareth Steenson

    Luke Cowan-DickieImage source, Rex Features

Again it's lovely patient play from Exeter, always getting over the gain line.

Alex Hepburn makes the initial break, Thomas Waldrom almost scores but Luke Cowan-Dickie on his comeback start, burrows over.

Simple conversion for Gareth Steenson and a perfect start by the champions.

    Exeter 0-0 Bath

Some pleasant early phases for Exeter and neat handling sees them make two lots of progress up the left wing.

But twice, a pass goes astray and Bath gain two easy exits.

Are Exeter favourites for back-to-back Premiership titles?

    Exeter ChiefsImage source, Getty Images

They only arrived in the top-flight in 2010 and won their first ever Premiership title in May, but could Exeter be about to embark on a period of dominance in English club rugby?

If they win in style at home to Bath today and Leicester toil at Wasps, Rob Baxter's side could end the day 10 points clear at the top of the table.

The play-offs always put a spanner in the works, but are Exeter now favourites to claim back-to-back titles?
