The TV cameras have just cut to a shot of Bath boss Todd Blackadder - he is not a happy bunny. He was scathing of his side after they collapsed in the second half at Sale last week and his side have thrown away the momentum they had gained with that positive end to the first half. I wonder what he will say at the end of this game if they lose again?

The second half has started in the same vein as the first with Wasps having all the possession and pressure. Bath have won the ball back - their first turnover of the game, but Wasps win a scrum just inside the home side's half.

Wonderful break by Dan Robson from the breakdown 30m out - the Wasps scrum-half skips past a challenge and feeds Juan de Jongh who goes over for the bonus point.

Danny Cipriani converts impressively from the left wing.

The statistics at the end of this first half are really interesting.

Bath have made 83 tackles and missed 19, Wasps have made just 39 in comparison and missed only five. With ball in hand Wasps have been scintillating - 90 carries to 35, 270 metres made compared to 63 and nine offloads to none from Bath.

If you are a Bath fan looking at those numbers you'll be over the moon that your side is only five points behind at the break.

  7. Bath fined £60,000 for releasing Faletaupublished at 20:40 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2017

    HT: Bath 14-19 Wasps

On Wednesday Bath were hit with a £60,000 fine by Premiership Rugby for allowing number eight Taulupe Faletau to play for Wales against South Africa in December.

Premiership rules state that clubs are not allowed to release players for Tests outside World Rugby's international window, with Wales' fourth autumn Test match falling outside of World Rugby's official window for games to be played.

"This is not good for players, clubs or unions," said Bath chief executive Tarquin McDonald. "We continue to support the objective of a solution for the separation of club and international calendars in a way which benefits players, clubs and unions, and brings an end to situations such as this."

We won't be seeing Faletau tonight as he recovers from a knee injury, but he's hopeful of playing a part in the Six Nations.

I think the message for Bath will be get the ball and keep the ball against these guys.

You don't want to allow Wasps and Cipriani the puppet-master the ball in his hands - he'll pull the strings and you don't want that.

The yellow card was massive - it gave us momentum.

What a half of rugby. If ever there was a half of two halves this was it. Wasps were irresistible in the opening 20 minutes, going 19-0 up as they denied Bath any sniff of the ball.

But after Marcus Watson's yellow card the home side came back into it with their pack taking control and two very well-worked tries. It's all to play for here.

A lineout drive, a pick and go, pressure under the Wasps posts and then a long pass from Rhys Preistland releases Jack Wilson to go over on the right. Wasps have conceded all their points since Marcus Watson was sin-binned and that try was right where he would have been defending.

    Priestland converts.

Small Man Peaky: Le Roux has been in sensational form this season. How Robson hasn't had even a sniff at England is a mystery. Obano definitely deserves his call-up to the training squad.

Could the tide turn? Marcus Watson does his second deliberate knock-on of the game and he gets 10 minutes to think about it after a yellow card. Now perhaps Bath can get back into this game against 14 men.

Just a few weeks ago Bath rampaged through Harlequins at the Rec, earning their bonus point after just 20 or so minutes. Tonight everything that can go wrong is going wrong - again they have the ball in Wasps territory and again they give away a penalty.

Wasps generate a big overlap on the left and release Marcus Watson on the touchline and he's over in the corner for his second try of the night. Wasps are utterly relentless here.

Danny Cipriani misses the conversion from a difficult angle.

Here is a statistic or two that tell the story of this opening period more than any words - Bath have made 61 tackles, Wasps have made just eight. The hosts have had 87% possession as well. It has been one-way traffic so far and Bath boss Todd Blackadder must be hoping his men can turn the tide.
