It has been a remarkable 2017 for Exeter Chiefs, crowned English champions for the first time in May and now they end the year 10 points clear at the Premiership summit.

That Jack Yeandle try with the last play of the game epitomised Exeter's hunger for success!

Conversely, Tigers end the year with a sixth straight defeat, making it their worst run for more than five decades.

What will 2018 bring these two sides?

Leicester head coach Matt O'Connor told BT Sport:

"It's disappointing. I thought we started the game well and were really good into the wind but we lost a lot of collisions in the second half.

"Exeter were outstanding in the second half. They looked after the ball, took their chances and put us under pressure and we weren't good enough to stop them.

"Losing takes a toll. We've got to pick ourselves up and make sure that next week at home we're really good."

Exeter Chiefs boss Rob Baxter told BT Sport:

"In the first half we had almost all the territory but I felt we pushed things too much for the conditions. We were the team making errors.

"We were doing all the attacking and making mistakes. I thought maybe things wouldn't go our way

"At half-time I said that we should be excited about the second half. Once we got the momentum we were all right."

What a way to end 2017!

Exeter back-row Don Armand told BT Sport:

"We said at half-time that this was an opportunity that we needed to seize with our own hands,

"It was a tight game and we knew we had to come out in the second half trying to kick on and not just trying to defend the lead.

"The crowd here gets louder when things aren't going our way which helps us along the way. It helps give us a good mental attitude."

Champions Exeter go 10 points clear at the top of the Premiership, thanks to that last-gasp bonus-point try!

Defeat for Leicester really piles the misery on Matt O'Connor's men. That is now six straight defeat, their worst run since 1965!

Another penalty and Exeter have the chance of a bonus-point try.

They have a line-out 5m out... a big push is coming!

We are into the final minute and Henry Slade relieves pressure on Exeter as he finds touch 10m in Leicester half from a penalty.

Exeter are refusing to give Leicester anything right now.

Mathew Tait is crashed into touch 5m out by James Short.

Exeter with the feed on a re-set scrum inside their 22.

They twist but do enough to rush the ball wide and eventually drill it into touch.

Time has all but run out for Leicester for what will be their sixth straight defeat.

Exeter's third try has done nothing to knock the life out of Leicester.

They are back on the attack and clock up their best period of possession with 16 phases.
