    Glasgow 3-21 Scarlets

Glasgow knock the ball on from the restart and in almost identical fashion to the first-half they immediately surrender possession.

Warriors, up to this point, have reserved one of their poorest displays of the season for their biggest match of the season.

  2. Kick-offpublished at 41 mins

    Glasgow 3-21 Scarlets

Henry Pyrgos replaces George Horne at scrum-half for Glasgow.

Rhys Patchell gets the second half under way at Scotstoun.

"Glasgow Warriors have been awful. It's been easy for Scarlets because Glasgow have been so passive. It's just one mistake after another, there's very little attitude in this team. Scarlets are just picking them off.

"In the first half Scarlets have been different class to this Glasgow team. The Scotstoun crowd are complaining about the referee, but I think they're just whinging for whinging's sake because their team is letting them down.

"It's been a brainless performance from Glasgow."

  5. Half-timepublished at 40 mins

    Glasgow 3-21 Scarlets

Glasgow have another attacking line-out on the 5m line and this time Fraser Brown finds his man at the tail.

The rolling maul rumbles over the line but referee John Lacey rules the ball is held up and blows for half-time.

The Glasgow supporters are unhappy Lacey did not consult the TMO but the 18-point advantage is not an unfair reflection of Scarlets' dominance in the first half.

    Quote Message

Glasgow Warriors are shooting themselves in the foot. It's a mixture of great Scarlets attack but poor defence. It's just been a really bad half, just what the last seven or eight games have been like.

    Glasgow 3-21 Scarlets

Another decent attacking situation, another handling error takes the wind out of Glasgow's sails.

From the resulting scrum, Warriors are penalised and Dave Rennie looks perplexed in the coaching box.

Glasgow are 7-3 on the wrong side of the penalty count and need to bring that under control.

  8. try

Try! Glasgow 3-21 Scarletspublished at 32 mins

    Rob Evans

Scarlets have been outstanding but Glasgow are making life pretty easy for them.

George Horne's box-kick is loose and picked up by full-back Johnny McNicholl. He shrugs off yet another soft tackle, this time from Fraser Brown, and feeds Steff Evans. The wing draws a couple of defenders before feeding Gareth Davies, who in turn finds prop Rob Evans to run in for the score.

Patchell converts and the champions are well on their way to another final.

  9. Rennie v Pivac for Wales job?published at 20:21 British Summer Time 18 May 2018

    Glasgow 3-14 Scarlets

Reports in Wales have suggested the two head coaches this evening - Glasgow's Dave Rennie and Scarlets' Wayne Pivac - are leading contenders to replace Warren Gatland as Wales coach after next year's World Cup.

    Advantage Pivac so far.....

James Davies just flops right on the tackle, he's the man who gets the penalty. Even from up here (commentary box) it's an obvious penalty to Glasgow. You know what, I'm glad it's the end of the season, the referees - they kill me. This is the biggest game of the season for all these players and this guy is incompetent.

  11. 'Glasgow a soft touch in defence'published at 27 mins

    Glasgow 3-14 Scarlets

    Tom English
Chief sports writer, BBC Scotland at Scotstoun

"Glasgow’s defence has become a bit of a soft touch. People gettting their positioning wrong, people tackling high, people falling off tackles.

"Much more of this and Scarlets are going to build a lead that’s going to prove insurmountable. Everything is set here. The stage is magnificent. Glasgow need to up it."

  12. Wasteful Warriorspublished at 25 mins

    Glasgow 3-14 Scarlets

A clever grubber-kick from Finn Russell earns Glasgow a line-out in a very promising position, but Fraser Brown's throw is and the chance is gone.

Warriors regain possession and again build a good attacking platform on the Scarlets 22, but the ball-carrier is isolated, the referee penalises for holding on and Rhys Patchell bangs the ball way downfield.

To add to their woes, Glasgow prop Zander Fagerson has just limped off.

  13. Next score is keypublished at 21 mins

    Glasgow 3-14 Scarlets

Scarlets are carrying hard with Rhys Patchell marshalling things well from fly-half.

Glasgow already look to be chasing things a little, forcing the issue and coughing up possession.

The next score in this match is now absolutely critical. Warriors need it desperately.

  14. try

Try! Glasgow 3-14 Scarletspublished at 17 mins

    Gareth Davies

Just as Glasgow were looking like they were wrestling the initiative away from Scarlets, the Welsh side strike with try number two.

Scott Williams finds a gap inside Finn Russell and ghosts through. He has Gareth Davies on the shoulder and feeds the scrum-half for a run-in under the posts.

Patchell adds the conversion and Warriors are up against it here.

  15. 'Cracking game'published at 20:04 British Summer Time 18 May 2018

    Glasgow Warriors 3-7 Scarlets

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland and Lions prop on BBC Radio Scotland

"What an absolutely cracking game it's been. Both teams trying to play, both teams trying to offload."

  16. Penalty - Glasgow 3-7 Scarletspublished at 14 mins

    Finn Russell

Glasgow are starting to get into their groove and Finn Russell, on his final appearance at Scotstoun before his summer move to Racing 92, is at the heart of it.

The fly-half is starting to find half-gaps and pop off-loads out the tackle.

Scarlets are pinged and Russell nails the kick to get Glasgow on the scoreboard.

Lovely ovation for John Barclay as he leaves the field injured. What a cruel game rugby is. I wonder what effect this will have on this match now. Scarlets have lost one of their best players but they will also be even more determined that this is not the end for Barclay as a Scarlet. Does his loss spur them on even more?

  18. Barclay in botherpublished at 10 mins

    Glasgow 0-7 Scarlets

Scarlets number eight John Barclay limps off the field and looks to be in some discomfort. He may have twisted an ankle when bringing down Zander Fagerson.

The former Glasgow Warrior receives a great ovation from the Scotstoun faithful.

Barclay's night may well be over.

  19. Glasgow under the coshpublished at 7 mins

    Glasgow 0-7 Scarlets

Glasgow are penalised once again and Rhys Patchell puts a beauty of a touch-finder right into the corner.

The Welsh side claim the line-out and carries from John Barclay among others gets them rumbling towards the line, but a loose clear-out at a ruck allows Jonny Gray to get over the ball and Scarlets are penalised for holding on.

Scarlets have started superbly and Glasgow need to get a grip on this game.

  20. try

Try! Glasgow 0-7 Scarletspublished at 4 mins

    Rhys Patchell

Scarlets are awarded a penalty but rather than kick for goal they take the line-out.

The ball is shipped out to Rhys Patchell and the fly-half brushes off a desperately weak tackle from Nick Grigg to go over for the game's opening try.

Patchell adds the extras and it's the perfect start for the defending champions.
