    Glasgow Warriors 0-0 Scarlets

From the line-out midway between the Glasgow 10 and 22m, Scarlets look to Hadleigh Parkes to crash up in the midfield but he is nailed by Callum Gibbins.

They hold onto possession and for a moment Glasgow look short of numbers but the pass to wing Tom Prydie is wayward and the ball goes into touch.

The two head coaches spoke to BBC Alba before the game.

Glasgow Warriors Dave Rennie said: "We're going to have to be good tonight. But we're confident.

"We've freshened the bodies up. We've had a lot of time to get clarity on what we need to do.

"It should be hell of a game, two really positive sides. We've got a good side on the field tonight but so do they."

Scarlets counterpart Wayne Pivac brushed off claims tonight is a head to head between him and Rennie. He said: "Tonight's all about Scarlets and 12 months of hard work.

"The conditions, they couldn't be any better."

Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets (KO 19:45)

    Colin Gregor
Former Scotland sevens captain on Radio Scotland

“Glasgow will just have to get on with it. The good thing is in Ruaridh Jackson they’ve got a quality replacement for Stuart Hogg. Not quite the same set the pitch alight, counter-attacking threat, but a real quality player.

"Glasgow’s squad is strong enough to deal with this. They have lost a world-class operator, but they just have to go and show what the character of this squad is all about.”

Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets (KO 19:45)

"Who's favourite? That's a hard one to call. We have pedigree as champions, but so do they.

"Playing expansive, off-loading rugby is in the DNA of both clubs. Glasgow want to throw it around and so do we.

"Playing the percentages doesn't hold much interest to either of us. Nine months of matches and it comes down to this."

Scotland captain John Barclay returns to old club Glasgow in the red of Scarlets this evening. He joins Edinburgh this summer, so tonight could be his last game for the Welsh region if they fail to make the Pro14 final.

"Looking at both teams, I think it will be one of the greatest games of the season. I don’t think it will be an anti-climax. The way Scarlets play, the way Glasgow play, they both play rugby.

"Absolutely perfect conditions. I spoke to a few Scarlets supporters outside and they are absolutely confident they can come up and win this game.”

  13. Do or diepublished at 19:02 British Summer Time 18 May 2018

Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets (KO 19:45)

Well this is a tasty match-up this evening.

Two of Europe's most exciting teams go head-to-head at Scotstoun for a place in the Pro14 final.

Glasgow have been formidable at home this season, winning all 10 league matches on their own patch and claiming try bonus points in nine of them.

However, Scarlets won the title last season the hard way, beating Leinster away in the semi-final before returning to Dublin to beat Munster in the final.

They also have good memories of their most recent meeting with Warriors, running out comfortable 26-8 winners at Parc y Scarlets last month.

As Dave Rennie said in the build-up, it is do or die now for both sides. The winners will go on to face Leinster or Munster in the final, while for the losers there is no tomorrow, their season will end tonight.
