Huw Jones spoke candidly during the week about how he has "never really felt at home in a Glasgow shirt".

The centre has lit-up the international scene with his free-scoring form for Scotland, but it's fair to say the Warriors faithful have yet to see the best of him.

He now seems to be finding his best stuff. He played well in the win against Dragons last week and has opened the scoring here after running a great support line off Adam Hastings.

  2. Zebre hitting backpublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Glasgow Warriors 7-0 Zebre

Glasgow are struggling to build on that early score.

A few early errors and it is Zebre who have had most of the territory.

But Huw Jones' third try in two games has the home side ahead.

  4. converted try

Converted try - Huw Jonespublished at 19:42 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Glasgow Warriors 7-0 Zebre

What an opening try from Warriors. From their own scrum Adam Hastings produced a long-bursting run through the centre of the pitch before a delightful pop pass to Huw Jones to go over.

It was Glasgow's first real moment of promise, and they delivered in style.

  5. Penalty - Simon Hickeypublished at 19:39

    Edinburgh 3-0 Cheetahs

A couple of turnovers by Cheetahs have Edinburgh under early pressure.

But the home side are soon deep in the South Africans' half and win a penalty for offside.

  6. Kick-offpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

Murrayfield is looking a bit sparsely populated as Edinburgh get the game under way.

  8. Players out to impresspublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

Players are not only playing for a win tonight but for places ahead of the start to the European Champions Cup next weekend.

Edinburgh travel to face Montpellier, while Glasgow entertain Saracens - both games from which the Scottish sides will need to be on top form to take any points.

Then, for the Scotland internationals in their ranks, the Autumn internationals are fast approaching with caps up for grabs.

  9. Fortress Murrayfield for Edinburghpublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Edinburgh v Cheetahs (19:35)

Edinburgh's woes this season have come away from Murrayfield, losing all three of their away fixtures this season.

But they have won both their home games in the Pro14 and are seeking a fifth consecutive win on their own patch in all competitions.

While Edinburgh sit fifth in Conference B, their visitors are bottom of section A without a win, but they came close to changing that last weekend as they were edged out 24-21 by Cardiff Blues in Wales.

Cheetahs lost in their only fixture against Edinburgh, losing 33-13 in Bloemfontein last season, and were defeated on their only previous visit to Scotland, 23-37 by Glasgow in February.

    Glasgow

Zebre: Padovani, Di Giulio, Bisegni, Boni, Balekana, Brummer, Violi, Tuivaiti, Meyer, Apisai, Biagi (capt), Krumov, Bello, Fabiani, Ah-Nau.

Replacements: Ceciliani, Rimpelli, Tenga, Ortis, Zilocchi, Raffaele, Azzolini, Venditti.

  11. Zebre no longer the whipping boyspublished at 19:26 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Glasgow Warriors v Zebre (19:35)

    Andy Burke
    BBC Sport Scotland at Scotstoun

In years gone by, this fixture would've represented nothing more than a turkey shoot for Glasgow. In the Pro12 days, no travelling opposition was more accommodating than Zebre.

Now the Italians represent a decent test. They won seven games last season, more than the Kings and the Dragons and the same number as Connacht. They have won two of their five matches this time around.

They are still a trickier proposition on home soil than on the road, however, and you would still fancy Glasgow, even allowing for all their changes, to have enough to take maximum points tonight.

It is not a fixture to set pulses racing, but George Horne's reintroduction at scrum-half is sure to inject some spark into proceedings.

    Edinburgh v Cheetahs (19:35)

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill tells BBC Scotland: "Great with the ball but disappointing when we didn't have the ball last week.

"We were soft in the defensive part and we need to be on it as Cheetahs are a very dangerous team.

"They have pace, very direct and a big forward pack. If we are not on point, we will be punished."

  14. 'A great opportunity'published at 19:17 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Glasgow Warriors v Zebre (19:35)

Glasgow Warriors head coach Dave Rennie tells BBC Scotland: "We've prepared really well. We are minus a handful of guys who are freshening up for next week.

"It's a great opportunity for others and there's an expectation as they step up.

"You leave it until November and February to give these guys a crack and it's difficult. You have to blend them in.

"We are lucky we have good depth and competition for places. We have a good mix of youth and experience."

  15. Four changes for Cheetahspublished at 19:15 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Edinburgh v Cheetahs (19:45)

His side having lost narrowly to Cardiff Blues, Cheetahs coach Franco Smith makes four changes at Murrayfield.

Jacques Du Toit comes in at hooker, while Justin Basson also comes in for Walt Steenkamp in the second row.

Neill Jordaan moves to flanker, replacing Gerhard Olivier, and Stephen Malan gets the nod at number eight.

Louis Fouche comes in at full-back at the expense of Ryno Eksteen, who misses out with a knee injury.

  16. Beware Balekana's weaving webpublished at 19:12 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Glasgow Warriors v Zebre (19:35)

Zebre coach Michael Bradley makes eight changes to the side that was easily swept aside by Ospreys on Saturday.

Paula Balekana, the 25-year-old former NSW Waratahs and Gordon wing, is given his debut.

Tom Collins, on loan to Randwick from Northampton Saints, last year said of the Fijian "that kid's got spiders on him" after a particularly scintillating display in Australian rugby.

I'm not sure what that means, but the Warriors defence will be hoping they don't suffer from a case of arachnophobia tonight.

Meanwhile, Cruze Ah-Nau and Eduardo Bello make their first starts of the season at prop.

  17. Form favours Warriorspublished at 19:09 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Glasgow Warriors v Zebre (19:35)

Glasgow recovered from their much-criticised defeat to Southern Kings with a bonus-point win at home to Dragons on Saturday.

That loss in South Africa remains their only defeat of the season and they lead Conference A by three points from Ospreys.

Zebre are no longer considered a easy meat despite sitting second bottom of their section and have won two of their five outings this season.

But they have lost on both their trips outside Italy, Saturday's 22-8 defeat at home to Ospreys was their second straight loss, Glasgow have won their last 25 matches against Italian opponents, while Zebre have won just one of their last 10 fixtures against Scottish teams.

  18. Graham and Sutherland get Edinburgh callpublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Edinburgh v Cheetahs (19:35)

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill has kept the changes to a minimum despite criticising his side's performance after they struggled to edge out Benetton 31-10 at home a week ago.

Darcy Graham makes his first start since February in place of Dougie Fife on the wing, while loose-head prop Rory Sutherland also earns his first start of the season in place of Allan Dell.

Centres Juan Pablo Socino and James Johnstone replace Matt Scott and Chris Dean.

  19. Debuts and changes for Glasgowpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 5 October 2018

    Glasgow Warriors v Zebre (19:35)

Warriors hand prop Adam Nicol and lock Andrew Davidson their first starts in a much-changed XV following last week's bonus-point win over Dragons.

United States loose forward Tevita Tameilau could make his debut off the bench, while wing Rory Hughes makes his first start of the season.

Co-captains Ryan Wilson and Callum Gibbins are among those rested, so Scotland lock Jonny Gray leads the side.

Is head coach Dave Rennie playing a dangerous game with so many changes and under-estimating the visitors?
