    Scotland 9-6 Argentina

Jamie Ritchie like a limpet over the tackle there, and the Scotland flanker wins a penalty for his side.

Stuart Hogg punts the penalty to touch, and they launch a line-out drive...

I thought Scotland looked good in the warm-up, against no opposition, but there's been very little in the game. Defensively, they have looked good. They've generally managed to keep Argentina out of their 22, and Argentina are a very dangerous team.

  3. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Scotland 9-6 Argentina

The rain has ceased, but the ball is still greasy in players' hands and Argentina knock on as they try to get something going in Scotland's half.

The visitors take the opportunity to make a change at hooker, taking off their captain Agustin Creevy, with Julian Montoya coming on.

Scotland also make a couple more changes, Stuart McInally taking from Fraser Brown at hooker, and centre Alex Dunbar coming on for Adam Hastings, with Finn Russell reverting to fly-half.

Will that final change ignite their backline?

  4. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Scotland 9-6 Argentina

Scotland prop Allan Dell strips the ball from Pumas lock Guido Petti in a tackle, and it's the hosts on the front foot again, rumbling into the Pumas half.

But Hamish Watson is isolated at the breakdown, and it's a penalty to Argentina. Frustrating times for Scotland.

  5. Penalty - Scotland 9-6 Argentina (Laidlaw)published at 55 mins

Greig Laidlaw, one of the top goalkickers in world rugby, doesn't miss from 28m out, and Scotland are ahead once more.

  6. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Scotland 6-6 Argentina

Finally Scotland 's attack starts to fire, Adam Hastings breaking clear, popping it to Finn Russell and then on to Jamie Ritchie.

Huw Jones is felled by a high tackle from Pumas hooker Agustin Creevy, and that's a penalty.

  7. Double change for Scotlandpublished at 50 mins

    Scotland 6-6 Argentina

Willem Nel is on a tight-head prop for Simon Berghan, and Ryan Wilson takes over from Josh Strauss at number eight.

Hard to say Strauss has pressed home his claims to hold on to the shirt, with only five carries - for 20m - in the first 50 minutes. He also made seven out of eight tackles.

Martin Landajo is also on at scrum-half for Argentina, Gonzalo Bertranou making way.

  8. Missed penalty - Scotland 6-6 Argentina (Sanchez)published at 48 mins

A great tackle from Matias Orlando on Blair Kinghorn initially, and the replacement is straight back on his feet to win a penalty as the Scotland wing is pinged for holding on in the tackle.

But Nicolas Sanchez is off target with his penalty attempt. That's nine points that have gone begging for the Pumas now.

  9. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Scotland 6-6 Argentina

A thumping hit from Pumas wing Bautista Delguy stops Adam Hastings dead in his tracks.

Will Gregor Townsend persist with this midfield axis or opt to restore Finn Russell to his usual fly-half?

The key to how Scotland play is possession and they haven't had enough to dictate the game.

  11. Penalty - Scotland 6-6 Argentinapublished at 43 mins

Adam Hastings sends a short pass out to Finn Russell but running onto those is not really Russell's game. Then Hastings tries to release Huw Jones, but he is well shackled by the Pumas defence.

Hastings is then pinged for going into a breakdown off his feet, and Nicolas Sanchez makes no mistake from the tee.

    We're all square.

There is no-more more I would rather have in this situation than Greig Laidlaw. His kicking game and control around the park has been great. He will be in there making sure everyone knows what they need to be doing in this second half.

The difference between the two teams is that Scotland are waiting for things to happen, while Argentina are getting right in their faces and making them happen

  15. 'Scotland's dangerous players are not in the match'published at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2018

    HT: Scotland 6-3 Argentina

    Tom English
BBC Scotland's chief sports writer at Murrayfield

Scotland's big playmakers have had nothing to do. Huw Jones has had no attacking ball. Finn Russell is playing in the wrong position, where he can't influence a game like this. We know why he's playing there - Adam Hastings needs time at 10, but it's not working for Hastings.

Do you persist with Hastings or, to win the match, do you move Russell back to 10 and bring Dunbar off the bench to play centre?

At the moment, all of Scotland's dangerous players are not in the match. And even if it was a stick-it-up-the-jumper game, they are not doing that either. Their supposed big ball-carriers are not on the ball.

The best part of Scotland's game has been their defence, which sums up the way the game has gone. In a tough game like that, you can look at that as a positive. There were glimpses in attack, but you can see the frustration on some players' faces.

This is what Argentina do. They come and make it difficult for you. They should be six points up. They are playing a kicking game but it is that sort of day and they are playing well. It is a wet day in November and it is not always going to be pretty. They are frustrating Scotland.

  19. Half-time - Scotland 6-3 Argentinapublished at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2018

Scotland turn the ball over and they have a chance to launch something...but Jonny Gray fumbles a pass sideways, it's knocked on, and that will be that.

Not a vintage half of rugby, by any means.

  20. 'Scotland are trying nothing'published at 39 mins

    Scotland 6-3 Argentina

    Tom English
BBC Scotland's chief sports writer at Murrayfield

Some of the kicking is because the ball is wet, but Scotland's game plan is so anti-Scotland. Very conservative. Scotland are trying nothing. it is such a basic game plan, they're trying nothing. They need Finn Russell at 10 to create something.
