Russell centre of attention for Scotspublished at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2018
Scotland v Argentina (14:30)
Gregor Townsend made eight changes in personnel to his team this week from the one that started last week's 26-20 defeat by South Africa.
But the additional positional switch has garnered most of the attention.
Is Finn Russell's move to inside centre a demotion for the star fly-half, a reflection of Russell's erratic display against South Africa, and recognition that Adam Hastings is now a genuine alternative as Scotland's number 10?
Or is Townsend merely taking the opportunity to give Hastings more valuable game time at Test level, so the head coach has an insurance policy heading into next year's World Cup, should anything befall his first-choice fly-half?
After 39 caps at 10, this will be the first time Russell has worn 12 in a Test. But some of his early outings for Glasgow came at centre, and he has moved there for the final stages in the last two Tests when Hastings arrived as a replacement.
Certainly, if the way they combined for Scotland's final try against Fiji is anything to go by, the attacking possibilities are rich in promise.
