    Exeter 0-6 Saracens

Saracens win a penalty at the scrum wide on the right flank.

The visitors are dominating the early stages, and Owen Farrell kicks to the corner again.

However, Exeter manage to turn over the ball at the line-out.

The Chiefs have conceded five penalties so far to Sarries' one so far, with a quarter of an hour gone at Sandy Park.

Exeter have made two mistakes and twice Saracens have punished them.

While Exeter’s defending on their own line was outstanding, they need to cut out these errors or else it will be a long afternoon for them at Sandy Park.

  3. Penalty - Exeter 0-6 Saracenspublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

    Owen Farrell

Exeter show great discipline to keep Saracens at bay just a couple of metres from their line as the visitors go through the phases.

First Alex Goode and then Vincent Koch come close to scoring, the latter being stopped by a great sliding block from Gareth Steenson.

But the referee goes back for a penalty advantage, and Owen Farrell extends the lead from in front of the posts.

Saracens have settled well here but Chiefs are yet to get going.

    Exeter 0-3 Saracens

Saracens get another penalty just inside the Exeter half - this time for an offside - and Owen Farrell kicks to the corner as the visitors look to get the game's first try.

  6. Penalty - Exeter 0-3 Saracenspublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

    Owen Farrell

Saracens take the lead with a penalty from the boot of England international Owen Farrell.

The reliable fly-half slots it from 44 metres out and just to the right of the sticks.

That infringement came after Sam Skinner failed to roll away at the breakdown.

  7. Penalty - Sale 0-3 Bristolpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

    Ian Madigan

The first points of the afternoon come at Sale where Ian Madigan slots over a simple penalty to give Bristol the lead after the Sharks are pulled up for kicking the ball out of the ruck.

  8. Postpublished at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

    Exeter 0-0 Saracens

Exeter fly-half Gareth Steenson fails to find touch with a penalty following some smart hands from the Sarries backs on the 22 to keep the ball in play.

So far the visitors are using their kicking game to try and put pressure on the hosts, but Chiefs are dealing with everything so far.

Today’s game is likely to be won and lost in the forwards, and with 13 internationals amongst the 16 starters up front it could be an awesome spectacle.

Sarries are without Billy Vunipola and Maro Itoje, while Exeter also have another three capped front-row forwards on their bench.

But with Exeter missing star backs Jack Nowell, Henry Slade and Alex Cuthbert it might be that their big men have even more pressure on them to try and pull the side through.

Kick-off is just a couple of minutes away.

Bristol Bears coach Pat Lam makes two changes from the side which beat Leicester in their last Premiership outing.

Samoa captain Chris Vui returns from a groin injury at lock, while Jack Lam is included at number eight.

Victory against the Tigers ended a four-game losing streak but the Bears have not won away from home in the Premiership since New Year's Day 2017.

Bristol: C Piutau; Morahan, Hurrell, S Piutau (co-capt), Leiua; Madigan, Randall; Y Thomas, Thacker, Afoa, Vui, Muldowney, Luatua (co-capt), Smith, Lam.

It's so tight at the bottom of the Premiership that the result at the AJ Bell Stadium this afternoon could make a huge difference to whether or not Sale and Bristol enjoy their Christmases.

Only four points separate the bottom six after last night's defeat for Worcester, with every side in the division having won at least three games.

An away win for Bristol would see them happily placed in mid-table when they tuck into their Christmas dinners, but victory for Sale would lift them above the Bears and make for a much more enjoyable festive season for the Sharks.

    Leicester v Harlequins (15:00 GMT)

Harlequins make eight changes from the side which beat Benetton 20-9 in the European Challenge Cup last weekend.

England international forwards Joe Marler, Kyle Sinckler and Jack Clifford are back in the pack, with Matt Symons at lock.

Mike Brown returns at full-back, with Nathan Earle on the right wing.

Brown has extra motivation for impressing for Quins, after telling BBC Radio London he is desperate to return to the England set-up.

The full-back has 72 caps but was dropped by Eddie Jones for the autumn internationals, with Wasps' Elliot Daly starting all four games instead.

Quins have won only once away from home in the Premiership since September 2017.

They won 27-25 at Gloucester on 29 September, with their most recent victory at Welford Road coming in November 2013.

Harlequins: Brown; Earle, Marchant, Lasike, Murley; Lang, Mulchrone; Marler, Ward, Sinckler, Symons, Merrick, Dombrandt, Clifford, Chisholm (capt).

Replacements: Crumpton, Boyce, Collier, Glynn, Bothma, Lewis, Smith, Alofa.

Leicester Tigers boss Geordan Murphy, who was named permanent head coach on Tuesday, makes four changes from the XV which lost 34-11 to Racing 92 in the European Champions Cup.

Winger Jonah Holmes and scrum-half Ben Youngs start as Guy Thompson and Harry Wells come into the forward pack.

Leicester's most recent Premiership win came against Northampton at Twickenham on 6 October.

Leicester: Worth; Holmes, Tuilagi, Toomua, May; Ford (capt), Youngs; Genge, Polota-Nau, Cole, Wells, Spencer, Fitzgerald, Thompson, Kalamafoni.

Replacements: Kerr, Ma'afu, Heyes, Williams, O'Connor, White, Owen, Olowofela.

The last few weeks must have felt surreal for Leicester fans, seeing their side suffer eight consecutive defeats in all competitions.

The Tigers are currently on their worst run of form since 1975.

Despite that, former full-back Geordan Murphy was promoted from interim boss to head coach this week.

Tigers are languishing at a low ebb, but the Irishman says it "takes a little bit of time to turn a battleship".

Can Leicester start to plot a course back to their former glory days today?

  18. Exeter skipper Yeandle misses outpublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

For an Exeter side already bereft of Jack Nowell, Henry Slade, and Alex Cuthbert, the last thing you need is to lose your skipper.

But that’s exactly what’s happened today - Chiefs hooker Jack Yeandle is unwell and misses out, so occasional England hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie comes in.

It’s his first game for a couple of months after being hurt against Castres in the Champions Cup.

  19. Lozowksi in, Maitland out for Sarriespublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

    Exeter v Saracens (15:00 GMT)

Saracens, unbeaten in 22 games in all competitions stretching back to April, make three changes to the side which beat Cardiff Blues 26-14 in the European Champions Cup.

Alex Lozowski starts on the wing in place of Sean Maitland, who misses out despite scoring the opening try for Saracens against the Blues last week.

Nick Isiekwe replaces Will Skelton in the second row while Calum Clark is preferred to Schalk Burger at flanker.

Sarries have not won at Sandy Park since September 2016.

  20. Kvesic back for Chiefspublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2018

    Exeter v Saracens (15:00 GMT)

Exeter make two changes for their top-of-the table clash with the unbeaten Premiership leaders.

Former England forward Matt Kvesic replaces Tom Lawday at number eight after the Chiefs beat Gloucester at Kingsholm in the Champions Cup last time out.

However, head coach Rob Baxter is forced into a second late on, with captain Jack Yeandle suffering with a bug.

Luke Cowan-Dickie starts at hooker, with Elvis Taione moving on to the bench.

Former Australia scrum-half Nic White has recovered from a foot injury while Exeter's young scrum-half Jack Maunder keeps his place - as does inexperienced winger Tom O'Flaherty.

The Chiefs lost to Gloucester in the Champions Cup in their most recent match at Sandy Park but have not lost back-to-back home games for over two years.
