Edinburgh 13-7 Glasgow
Glasgow captain Callum Gibbins is pinged for slowing down Edinburgh ball, right in front of the posts, and referee Mike Adamson shows him the yellow card.
Edinburgh 13-7 Glasgow
Great break from Edinburgh wing Duhan van der Merwe down the left, who chips ahead and it's gathered by James Johnstone, who is only stopped short by a brilliant cover tackle from Stuart Hogg.
Edinburgh 13-7 Glasgow
More frustration for Warriors as they are penalised for wheeling a scrum. They seem to have got on the wrong side of referee Mike Adamson there.

Quote MessageAt the beginning of the first half, Glasgow's defence repelled Edinburgh for phase after phase around the same area of the field. Now Glasgow have got to find answers to the Edinburgh defence. It's just swarming, the line speed, the aggression. They're making their tackles, they're staying disciplined
Edinburgh 13-7 Glasgow
All that effort comes to nought as George Horne feeds Adam Hastings but the fly-half's reverse pass out the back door is too low for DTH van der Merwe and the ball trickles into touch. Frustrating...
Edinburgh 13-7 Glasgow
George Horne has been an effervescent presence for Glasgow and he works a wraparound move to take Warriros to within 5m of the Edinburgh line. Nine phases, 10 phases...
Edinburgh 13-7 Glasgow
Tommy Seymour takes a high kick from Henry Pyrgos and Glasgow are off on another counter-attack. This time Edinburgh centre James Johnstone is penalised for not releasing Peter Horne at the tackle, and Warriors punt a penalty into touch inside the Edinburgh 22...
Edinburgh 13-7 Glasgow
Warriors making progress down the right flank, Stuart Hogg trying to bring Tommy Seymour into play, but the visitors cough up possession again.
Edinburgh 13-7 Glasgow
Glasgow immediately lose the ball in contact and Edinburgh hooker Stuart McInally has a chance to stretch his legs with a bit of a gallop.
But Jaco van der Walt's chip is charged down and it's all a bit harum-scarum at the start of this second half.

I think Glasgow getting that try just before half-time has set things up. I've been looking at the collisions. They're brutal in the professional game. But in this match there's a wee edge. You can see guys firing in trying to upset the opposition and trying to slow things down. It's what you would expect. Local derbies are all about intensity

In a sense Richard Cockerill will be happy as Edinburgh have had the lion's share of the game, but he'll be angry they haven't done more with the possession that they've had.
At 13-7 the game has been busted wide open. Glasgow are inching their way back into it; they're finding a way to compete.
So an interesting first half at Murrayfield. Edinburgh by far the better side for the first half-hour, with Glasgow floundering somewhat against a ferocious home defence.
But that little gem of a try just before the interval gives Glasgow plenty of hope going into the sheds.

Quote MessageThey've done that before off the back of the ruck, George puts over the deft chip kick, Pete Horne comes from deep, he's going at a fair pace and he does incredibly well to gather the ball
Peter Horne
Glasgow scrum-half George Horne takes a step back from the ruck and sends up a deft chip-kick over the Edinburgh defence. Elder brother Peter is onto it in a flash and dabs it down for a well-conceived try.
Adam Hastings lands an easy conversion and Warriors are back in it.
Edinburgh 13-0 Glasgow
Bit of a breather while Grant Stewart - starting at hooker for Glasgow with both Fraser Brown and George Turner sidelined - receives some treatment.
The action resume with Stewart finding Rob Harley at a line-out. That'll give the young man's confidence a lift after his last effort.
Edinburgh 13-0 Glasgow
Edinburgh win a line-out via Ben Toolis and scrum-half Henry Pyrgos, who has been an influential figure so far. launches a box-kick.
Glasgow try to run it back, Stuart Hogg pressures Pyrgos into conceding a line-out, and now Adam Hastings is probing Edinburgh's left flank with a cross-field kick, and Pyrgos takes it into touch again
But basic errors are hampering Warriors. The inexperienced Grant Stewart misses his target at the line-out, and Hamish Watson collects and breaks away.
Edinburgh 13-0 Glasgow
Glasgow have a line-out 5m out. Adam Ashe takes it at the tail and Warriors try to set up a drive, but again Edinburgh force an error at the breakdown.

Quote MessageEdinburgh just look confident, assured and believe they can win. Glasgow just look nervous, making lots of mistakes. It's like what Tom (English) said: 'Edinburgh need to win, Glasgow hope to win'
