Quote MessageYou can see the different mindsets and tactics of the two teams. Edinburgh kick to get a line-out rather than launching a maul or attacking with their backs. They just go aerial and make Glasgow play from deep. Good return from Edinburgh
Jaco van der Walt
Edinburgh spring centre James Johnstone through a gap and suddenly they're up to within five metres of the Glasgow line.
Fly-half Jaco van der Walt tries an angled cross-kick to the right touchline towards Darcy Graham, but Stuart Hogg deals with it safely.
But referee Mike Adamson was playing an advantage and goes back for a penalty, which Edinburgh fly-half Jaco van der Walt slots to extend the lead.
Edinburgh 10-0 Glasgow
More frustration for Warriors, who try to bring Stuart Hogg into the attack but Edinburgh are defending well. Hamish Watson wins a penalty at the breakdown and the hosts can clear to halfway.

Quote MessageIt's a soft try; Van der Merwe times it well. He takes the gamble to go for that try. He showed some real gas. Glasgow have now got to play.
Duhan van der Merwe
What gas! Glasgow on the attack on but Adam Hastings' pass is intercepted by Edinburgh wing Duhan van der Merwe, who races away 70-odd metres to touch down.
Jaco van der Walt adds the extras from the touchline and that's a handy lead at this stage.
Good pressure from Edinburgh and Glasgow lock Rob Harley is pinged for an infringement on the floor.
Jaco van der Walt lands the first points of the game.
Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow
Glasgow Warriors coach Dave Rennie told BBC Sportsound beforehand that both sides are "pretty confident" coming into the game.
"Edinburgh are doing well in Europe so I imagine they’ll be pretty desperate today," he said.
"We’ve trained well and we’re clear about what we have to do. The key thing (today) is about the quality of our performance."
Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow
Both sides trying to run the ball in these early stages, Blair Kinghorn releasing Chris Dean with a lovely offload before an Edinburgh move breaks down. Glasgow reply in kind but DTH van der Merwe drops a pass on the left touchline.
Breathless stuff so far.
Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow
Edinburgh spread it wide with a floated pass from Chris Dean to Darcy Graham on the right touchline, but the winger is forced into touch.
Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow
Edinburgh looking to the ball-carrying power of Bill Mata early on as they go through a dozen phases before fly-half Jaco van der Walt tries to stab a kick through that is deflected into touch.
Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow
Ouch. Glasgow winger DTH van der Merwe collides with Edinburgh counterpart Darcy Graham in the air from the kick-off, with both men requiring treatment.

As the smoke from the pre-match pyrotechnics starts to clear away, Edinbugh's Blair Kinghorn gets us under way...
Edinburgh v Glasgow (17:15)
Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill told BBC Scotland he is looking forward to a hard fought contest.
"It’s a big afternoon for us,we need the league points and Glasgow are a very good side. Scottish rugby is strong, we’ve got two really good teams and it should be a hard-fought contest.
"We’ve been a bit compromised and have some catching up to do, but we’re only half way through. These games have an added edge because of the rivalry but we could certainly do with the points as well.
"Glasgow have great players and are a good side. We’ve got good players too and we both play different games but both as effective as each other so it should be a good physical contest."

Glasgow are out on the pitch, and Ben Tools is leading Edinburgh out on the occasion of his 100th appearance for the club.

A quick reminder of the tams before we get under way at Murrayfield.

Edinburgh v Glasgow (17:15)
Glasgow head coach Dave Rennie doesn't tend to go in for winding up the opposition before matches, and the Kiwi has given fairly short shrift to the idea that Edinburgh could unsettle the Warriors up front and put a spanner in their attacking works.
"We know what they're going to bring," Rennie said. "We're going to have to be good to get a result.
"They're very, very structured. They'll kick and chase and apply a lot of pressure through that. If we can do a good job around diffusing their kicking game then we should get plenty of opportunities to attack from it.
"They're a very well organised defensive side. Our ability to hang on to the ball for long periods is going be really important. We're clear on what we need to do. We've prepared well, we should play well."
Edinburgh v Glasgow (17:15)
Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill has not been shy in coming forward this week, as you'd expect, as he assessed the prospects for today's encounter.
"We are going to come with a winning mindset and are looking forward to the challenge," he said. "We are playing a very good side but we are coming here to win. It should be a very tasty game."
Edinburgh were largely successful in negating many of Glasgow's attacking weapons in their two Murrayfield meetings last season, so expect another ferocious battle today at the set-piece and breakdown.
"We will try to make it as uncomfortable as possible for them," Cockerill added. "They are a good side when they play how they want to play, but we are going to do our best to disrupt their flow and put them under pressure. When teams are under pressure, they do different things."
Edinburgh v Glasgow (17:15)
Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill has been clinging to the underdog tag for all it's worth, but the capital club have won the 1872 Cup - the trophy the two rivals play for every year - in three of the last four years, and have won five of the last seven encounters.
In Cockerill's first season in Edinburgh, his side won the corresponding pre-Christmas fixture 18-17 - a remarkable effort after they played for 76 minutes with 14 men following Simon Berghan's early red card.
Glasgow won the return fixture 17-0 at Scotstoun a week later - a game most notable for a fire alarm requiring the stadium to be evacuated and a half-hour delay mid-match.
But Edinburgh again had the edge at Murrayfield when the sides met in the final round of the regular Pro14 season. They have also won all six of their home games at the national stadium this season.
Edinburgh v Glasgow (17:15)
Afternoon all. It's derby day in Edinburgh, as Scotland's two pro teams fight it out for inter-city bragging rights, a chance to get one over rivals in Scotland selection, one hand on the 1872 Cup, and - when you strip all that away - the small matter of Pro14 points.
Glasgow are siting pretty, seven points clear at the top of Conference A, and well on the course for the play-offs for a seventh time in eight years.
Clear favourites then? Well, not quite. Edinburgh may be a lowly fifth in Conference B, seven points off the play-off spots, but like the Warriors they come into this one on the back of consecutive European Champions Cup wins.
And, more pertinently perhaps, they won both games against Glasgow last season at Murrayfield, where they have not lost all season.
