Tonight's result shows a lot of character and it's a great start. The good thing is, there is more to come, and Wales have won without playing particularly well.

But an error by Yoann Huget...

...and another by Sebastien Vahaamahina handed Wales 14 points on a plate and a route back into the match.

A game of two halves...

First, the first 40 minutes when everything was coming up France with Louis Picamoles' try...

...and then Yoann Huget and Arthur Itturia combining sweetly for a second.

"It’s a big start for us. We’ve got an eight-day turnaround with Italy next week so we’re looking forward to the next few days.

"Everyone who’s won this championship in the last 10 years will recognise there's games where you get a bit lucky. Like the Johnny Sexton drop-goal last year.

"We look back on times when we've won the Grand Slam and had a bit of luck. You need that to win the championship."

"George North did alright today. He’ll be disappointed with the try where he was stepped defensively.

"The message at half-time was to just raise the tempo. As a team we've forgotten how to lose and they’ve probably forgotten how to win a bit.

"It’s nice to get out of jail 16-0 down and win the game so we’ll take it.

"Today our game management was poor but we found a way to win."

"It was a mixed day today. In these sorts of conditions anything can happen.

"We spoke all week about chasing everything down. We didn’t have much luck in the first half but in the second half it was all hands on deck.

"I’m really happy. We made a few mistakes in the first half. The message at half-time was clear and it showed in the second half.

"We showed how much we can dig in to get a result but we’re nowhere near where we need to be.

"For us it’s a good step in a big campaign."

Today's result is only the third time that a team has come back from 16 or more points down at half-time.

France recovered from 27-10 down to beat Wales 40-33 in 1996, before Australia fought back from 31-7 down against Argentina to win 45-34 in Salta last year.

The most important game is your first game. Had they lost it would have been a different feeling around the group going into the next game, but they won.

You would expect them to beat Italy and then the pressure will be on at home against England.

Ireland are probably the favourites for the championship but Wales have won the first game and they could be on for a grand slam.

I do feel sorry for the fans who are stuck back home because that was an amazing opening game of the Six Nations.

What a comeback. Watching myself as a fan, I wasn't sure Wales could come back from that deficit. But it just shows the confidence in the side.

I think Geraint Thomas speaks for all Wales fans....

It was an amazing victory. France did everything they could to win that game but it was just key moments and a lack of leadership that lost it for them.

Wales should be confident enough to say they can go to Italy and win. That then sets them up for the home game against England, which will be enormous.

After the first half performance you would think there is no chance Wales can win the tournament, but it just goes to show the character of this team.

I can assure you they would have had a roasting at the break and it's a great win to perform like that in the second half. George North probably didn't touch the ball until the first try, but he has won the game.

"I’d be lying if I didn’t say that was a relief. Credit to George North and the defence, who came through in the conditions.

"You think of all the stuff that was created today and a couple of those were from sheer effort. But the conditions won the game more than we did

"We hold our hands up and say we came out a bit cold in the first half but we learnt pretty quickly at the start of the second half as we should have."

Alun Wyn Jones has brought Wales together in a huddle for an immediate debrief.

Like all good speeches, it looks like he started with a joke, lots of smiles in reaction and a whole lot of relief as well.

It was a very bad start to the second half for the French team. I really thought we were going to continue the way they played in the first half.

There were some stupid mistakes. We took off the captain and there were no leaders at the end of the game.

What a game.

Wales might as well have been stuck in the airport in the first half. They handed France the initiative and the hosts took it.

But Wales changed their game plan in the second half and George North picked a pocket to win the game. Superb performance.

What an amazing game. I didn't see that first half happening and I definitely didn't see that second half happening.

France have got to look at the first 15 minutes of the second half and what went wrong there.

France's players are wandering around the Stade de France in a state of disbelief.

That is a defeat to shatter what little confidence remains in France's players. So strong in the first half, they were kamikaze in the second.
