    Time for some changes.

As Paul Grayson says, this definitely has more of a friendly feel about it.

England have changed their whole midfield, they have got a debutant on the wing in Ruaridh McConnachie and the communication might not be there just yet. It has the air of a friendly more than the matches against Wales and Ireland did.

    England 6-0 Italy

England carry the ball with their big powerful runners as Billy Vunipola stuffs it up the jumper and sets off.

The number eight then shows a bit of magic as he offloads in the tackle before Joe Marler tries the same but Owen Farrell spills the ball in the gap.

    Give these people a try.

James Long on Twitter: "Apart from taking the sport around the country, St James’ Park is a football stadium. Many of the venues in Japan are football stadiums so good experience to play on a pitch with smaller dimensions."

Interesting theory. England's first match is at the Sapporo Dome, where their football counterparts beat Argentina in the 2002 World Cup.

I don't think England's attack is as accurate as they want it to be. There have been a number of times that Owen Farrell has gone to the defensive line and looked for a killer pass that was not there. They need to build more with their big runners and some front-foot ball.

    England 6-0 Italy

England steal the ball in the line-out and the Newcastle faithful are off their seats as local hero Mark Wilson sets off.

The back-row throws a pass after being brought down but England knock on.

    England 6-0 Italy

The Owen Farrell and Jonny May partnership has been a real strength this evening.

The former chips the ball perfectly over the blue line for the latter, who beats the full-back with ease.

The winger is caught by the covering blue shirts and England are penalised on the ground, but these are positive signs.

Gareth via text: Really excited to see McConnochie and May on the wing and Watson at full back tonight. Just very nervous about potential injuries to Vunipola and Farrell - especially given it was against Italy that Wales lost key players like Rhys Webb to injury in the run up to RWC 2015.

    England 6-0 Italy

Italy's Jimmy Tuivaiti is caught up in a Saracens sandwich between Jamie George and Billy Vunipola.

The Azzurri recycle and move it wide but England are solid and maintain their shape.

It's definitely been an evening for the defences so far!

    England 6-0 Italy

England opt for a scrum but the move breaks down in midfield as Joe Marchant and Ben Youngs are not on the same page, and the ball is lost forward.

    Better now, than in Japan!

    England 6-0 Italy

Courtney Lawes joins the party in typical Courtney Lawes style.

Italy build from the restart and move the ball to the back of the maul, but Lawes wraps his big arm over the top and manages to get his hands on the ball.

    Penalty to England.

One more win before the World Cup is obviously a must for England. Owen Farrell didn't look like he even thought about kicking to the corner on either of the penalties England have won so far.

Owen Farrell makes it two from two off the tee and his side double their advantage.

    England 3-0 Italy

    Paul Grayson

I have got a feeling that Anthony Watson will have a big role to play in this Rugby World Cup and not necessarily on the wing. You would not know he has missed a year with an Achilles tendon injury. He is looking sharp as a tack.

As expected, England have reverted to type.

They catch and drive from the line-out and now they make valuable yards.

Owen Farrell's punt high into the Newcastle sky is caught by Jonny May and the hosts win another penalty in very kick able range.

    England 3-0 Italy

The Newcastle crowd are poised to cheer England on whenever anything the least bit good happens, but England aren't delivering yet.

They really really love Mark Wilson.

  18. Postpublished at 16 mins

    England 3-0 Italy

Eddie Jones' men go through the phases but Owen Farrell's loose pass is collected by Tommaso Benvenuti as possession changes hands again.

Italy are not committing men in the ruck so they have more bodies in the line, and it's definitely working early on.

  19. Postpublished at 14 mins

    England 3-0 Italy

England kick for touch before using Piers Francis to carry the ball at the blue line from the line-out.

The men in red are stifled in attack once more and they are being frustrated in the opening quarter of an hour.

  20. Postpublished at 12 mins

    England 3-0 Italy

England have the put-in at the scrum on their own five metre line.

After a brief pause, the hosts win the penalty as Italy are penalised for hinging.
