    FT: South Africa 57-3 Namibia

    So South Africa have ended day nine with a thumping victory over neighbours Namibia in the city of Toyota.

    But the headlines belong to Japan who added another huge scalp to their growing portfolio of shock victories.

    The hosts pulled off a terrific win over Ireland, who came into the tournament as the best side in the world.

    The day began with a 25-minute hat-trick for Julian Montoya as Argentina claimed their first win of the tournament with victory over Tonga in Higashiosaka.

    We'll be back tomorrow morning to do it all over again as Wales take on Australia, so join us for that one.

    It's amazing to think South Africa have won comfortably but the performance was far from perfect.

    You would expect someone such as fly-half Elton Jantjies to boss the game but they have been a bit blunt in attack and not opened up the Namibia defence.

    But let's not forget they made 13 changes from the defeat by the All Blacks and it looks like they've come through this without any injuries, which is important.

    South Africa will think they should have scored 10 or 12 tries. We have talked about them being potential winners and becoming three-time champions and, yes, they have dominated Namibia but not to the level you would have expected.

    I'm not sure it will make much difference to the scoreline, but Namibia are back to full strength.
