    South Africa 38-3 Namibia

Namibia play with fire behind their own try line.

Cliven Loubser scrambles the ball clear but Makazole Mapimpi makes a great catch by the touchline.

The winger throws it back inside to Elton Jantjies but the fly-half is crunched by Johan Deysel on the cover.

The Namibian adds salt to the wound by patting the Springbok on the head, something Jantjies reacts to before a bit of pushing and shoving from both parties.

    Needless.

Converted Try - South Africa 38-3 Namibiapublished at 47 mins

    Warrick Gelant (con Elton Jantjies)

Warrick Gelant plays a brilliant one-two to score an excellent sixth try for the Springboks.

The full-back throws a terrific pass over two Namibian defenders to Lukhanyo Am before receiving it back off the centre on the inside.

The Sprigboks are phenomenal when they stretch their legs and Namibia cannot contain them.

Elton Jantjies, who has had mixed fortunes off the tee, kicks the conversion.

That's the end of Vincent Koch's evening as he is replaced by Thomas du Toit.

Cliven Loubser gives his penalty a nudge but it comes back off the post and South Africa try and run it clear.

    Unlucky.

    South Africa 31-3 Namibia

Namibia go through six phases, their maximum in the match, before winning the penalty as the Springboks try to play the ball on the ground.

Cliven Loubser is lining up the kick from just inside the Springbok half.

  6. Postpublished at 41 mins

    South Africa 31-3 Namibia

Warrick Gelant's head must still be in the changing rooms as he knocks on a simple catch from the restart.

Rassie Erasmus will be looking for a sharpness from his side in this half and that is a poor start.

That's pretty much the story of the half saidmadrid, but day nine hasn't all been like that.

Japan added another huge scalp to their growing portfolio of World Cup wins after an entertaining victory over Ireland.

And earlier in the day, hooker Julian Montoya scored a 25-minute hat-trick as Argentina claimed their first victory of the tournament with a bonus-point win over Tonga in Pool C.

  11. 'Springboks lack cohesion'published at 11:42 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    HT: South Africa 31-3 Namibia

    Rory Lawson
Former Scotland captain on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

South Africa need to show they are more than a group that can maul. It has led to three tries but until that final play they have not looked free flowing.

It has not been a vintage display but it's a relatively inexperienced backline and they've not had the cohesion they would have wanted because they have come into this match with 13 changes from the All Blacks game.

With that conversion from Elton Jantjies, the referee brings the first half to an end.

It's been a rather one-sided Test match and the Springboks are in total control.

    Lukhanyo Am (con Elton Jantjies)

The white shirts venture out of their half for one final flurry before the interval and Lukhanyo Am has try number five!

South Africa are slick in their movement and they move the Namibian defence at will with their incisive lines of running.

Makazole Mapimpi makes the break before the ball is recycled and move right for the centre to finish off.

This time Elton Jantjies adds the extras.

    South Africa 24-3 Namibia

Namibia roll through the phases but their opponents are sharper and better drilled.

They turn over the ball for the sixth time in the first half and that will probably be that.

    South Africa 24-3 Namibia

We are just having a brief pause in proceedings as JC Greyling receives treatment after a hefty tackle from Frans Steyn.

The centre is OK and the ball is kicked to touch for an attacking line-out to Namibia inside the Springbok half.

The crowd are up for this scrum as they start clapping in tandem.

But the applause ends quite quickly as Namibia come under huge pressure, and the referee's arm goes up for a Springbok free-kick.

    Pressure relieved.

    Now then.

Namibia have a scrum inside the Springbok 22.

Eugene Jantjies puts in a lovely box kick and Makazole Mapimpi is held up by three onrushing Namibia defenders.

Their scrum has really struggled so far so let's see what happens here.

South Africa are cruising and the atmosphere inside the Toyota Stadium is flat.

I cannot see anyway back for the Namibians here, but stranger things have happened!

  20. try

Try - South Africa 24-3 Namibiapublished at 26 mins

    Makazole Mapimpi

That's the quickest bonus point at this World Cup. Clinical.

South Africa shove Namibia into touch before executing a well-worked move, which is finished off by Makazole Mapimpi.

Frans Steyn crashes up in the midfield before it is moved wide and Mapimpi runs in unopposed - although the final pass did look slightly forward.

One area of concern for the Springboks will be Elton Jantjies's kicking, however, as he misses his second conversion.
