Here is South Africa coach Rassie Erasmus: "We had a short turnaround for the guys, it was scrappy at stages but can't moan about the tempo - the red card made it a little bit easier, so overall not too bad.
"In this humidity sometimes you can over-exaggerate, we kept it fairly simple which was a good thing."
On reaching the quarter-finals: "The big thing is we have to see who we are going to play - we'll give the guys two days off and on Friday get back on the horse again.
"We have a good chance like everyone else but there are so many good teams in this tournament. Japan are a class act, Ireland and Scotland class acts. Some tough opposition in the next few weeks."

That convincing bonus-point win means South Africa have booked their spot in the World Cup quarter-finals.
So what do Scotland, Ireland and Japan fans make of the prospect of facing the Springboks in the last eight?

But there's no one to collect it at the ruck and Djustice Sears-Duru pinches the ball.
Now Canada fancy their chances. They swing it left and DTH Van Der Merwe has space in front of him, but the wing can't hold on to the ball.

Poor kick from Elton Jantjies as he fails to find touch from a deep penalty, but the ball is soon back in green and gold hands.

And there it is. A 10th try for the Springboks.
Siya Kolisi is stopped narrowly short but South Africa recycle it quickly and substitute Frans Malherbe is on hand to reach out and dot down.

However, they do look like they're beginning to tire and South Africa are finding acres of space out wide against the 14 men in red shirts.

South Africa will look to run it from deep again, that is until Frans Steyn tries to free up his outside men with a delicate grubber between the line - the centre just overcooks it and it wriggles into touch.
Damian Willemse (con Elton Jantjies)
Slick hands, great score.
Damian Willemse pumps his fist in the air before sliding over unopposed after South Africa move the ball quickly across the line for the full-back to grab his first international try.
Willemse probably hasn't even got over his jet-lag yet, he only arrived in Japan five days ago as a late injury replacement. You can see just what that means to the 21-year-old.

Warrick Gelant attempts to reach his own grubber but Jeff Hassler is there to cover for Canada. The wing takes it over his own line and then spills it - a South Africa scrum five metres out.

A big cheer as Kwagga Smith drops a high ball under little pressure. He can smile about it. Canada get the line-out just inside the Springboks half and look to take the ball through the phases to eat up some more ground.

That will be Schalk Brits' last involvement today. That injection of pace for the try seems to have resulted in an injury as he limps off. Let's hope it's not serious. He bows to the crowd on his way off...

The Canadian resistance is broken. It's been a superb start to the second half by the 14 men in red shirts, but they can't keep South Africa out.
And it's Schalk Brits who does the damage for the Springboks - a superb side-step and shimmy of the hips from the 38-year-old hooker, gliding through the defensive line like he's making his debut rather than having come out of retirement.

This one's turned into a football game...
The ball bobbles around after going loose from a Springbok hand and Jeff Hassler is the first man on to it, kicking forward twice to try and escape the attention of several green jerseys.

Warrick Gelant puts his head down, gets his arm and legs pumping and rips his way beyond Canada full-back Andrew Coe to reach a speculative grubber into the corner, but the lightning-quick wing just fumbles after dribbling the ball forward to within touching distance of the line.

Brilliant!
Jeff Hassler makes a superb break as the wing burrows his way towards the South Africa line before being felled just short.
But the Canadians keep it alive, and flanker Matt Heaton forces his way over from close range.
It goes to the TMO for a check on an earlier offside, but the try is good and Peter Nelson can thwack over the extras.

South Africa are then called up for closing the gap at the throw.
Promising start to this second 40 by Canada. They go left to Ciaran Hearn, then hooker Andrew Quattrin and finally Conor Trainor is gobbled up and the Springboks turn it over.
