Scotland international Stuart Hogg will be the centre (or should that be full-back?) of attention tomorrow as he plays in the European Champions Cup for Exeter Chiefs at home to Glasgow Warriors, who he left in the summer.

Glasgow head coach Dave Rennie has promised his former charge a tough time.

“We love Hoggy," he said." I know the boys have been ribbing him, Ryan Wilson has been sending him the odd text telling him he’s going to get him in the game – and no doubt he’ll try to. All in good fun.

“It’s a bit ironic we draw them in Europe, but he’s a good man. We’ll enjoy catching up for a beer after the game.

“He’ll certainly be highly motivated. We’re also aware of a couple of frailties that he has so hopefully we can put a bit of pressure on him."

Next up for Edinburgh is a home game against Wasps on 6 December in the first of a double header against the English side.

You feel Richard Cockerill's side will have to win that one as Bordeaux will be favourites to take all the points in their French derby away to Agen on the same day.

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill believes it was "an opportunity missed" to put his side in a commanding position in Pool 3.

"Even though it is the second tier of Europe, they are a good side," he says of Bordeaux. "I am disappointed we did not win the game and we had enough of the game to do that.

"We need to learn to make the right decisions at the right time and good sides always get the chance to score and they did that.

"It is small margins, we were as good as they were and should have won the game. We've got to be smarter and learn our lessons quickly."

We are still waiting to hear from the Edinburgh head coach.

Maybe Richard Cockerill has a few choice words for his players before meeting the media.

The next pool game takes place tomorrow, when Wasps host Agen and you would expect the English side to get off the mark against the Top 14 strugglers who lost at home to Edinburgh last week.

Edinburgh will wonder how this one ran away from them. From 16-6 ahead, they have to settle for two points.

Blair Kinghorn's first-half try gave the home side the advantage, but they failed to build on that and, in a thrilling finish, with play flowing from end to end, Semi Radrada went over the line to reduce the arrears and Matthieu Jalibert's late penalty levelled the scores.

Two points each, but Bordeaux will be the happier side.

Bordeaux have a penalty and, having failed to take advantage, Matthieu Jalibert elects to try to level the scores from distance.

The fly-half doesn't connect properly but does enough to put the ball between the posts and ties the score with two minutes to go.

Bordeaux have a chance to level as they are handed a penalty on the 10 metre line.

Another good Jaco van der Walt break, but Ben Toolis is caught and concedes a penalty for not releasing midway through the Bordeaux half.

A good break from Jaco van der Walt then Duhan van der Merwe and the latter's kick takes Edinburgh deep into their opponents' half.

Santiago Cordero wriggles and bounces through a few tackles as Bordeaux threaten to break through, but Edinburgh manage to hold firm.

Both sides are fully intent on attack as Bordeaux attempt to run from their own half after an Edinburgh rolling maul breaks down.

Bordeaux are forced into a change and wing Seta Tamanivalu is forced into the scrum as the visitors have already used all the forwards on their bench.

Another passing move from Edinburgh is halted - this time because a Bordeaux player is down injured and impeding their progress.

The play is opening out and flowing passes out to both wings in quick succession fail to produce a breakthrough for Edinburgh.

Edinburgh immediately have a chance to extend the lead again, but Jaco van der Walt misses his first kick of the evening.
