    Edinburgh 3-0 Bordeaux

BBC Scotland rugby reporter at Murrayfield

It’s not been an opening period to set the pulse racing.

Both teams look fairly threatening at points, but the error count on both sides is killing this as a spectacle so far.

Edinburgh really need to sort out their malfunctioning line-out. That’s four on their own throw that have gone awry.

Neither side have been able to exert any dominance.

Bordeaux have been the more adventurous, but Edinburgh still have the lead and look dogged in defence.

Edinburgh must just go pretty simple and make sure that calls are understood and everyone knows their roles. Edinburgh tend to have a strong lineout, just because they have been a bit wobbly here doesn't mean everything has gone to pot.

    Edinburgh v Bordeaux Begles (19:35)

Edinburgh beat tonight's visitors home and away in the 2014-15 Challenge Cup, but the French side have improved under their new coach, Christophe Urios, are currently second in the Top 14 and look to be heading for a better finish than last season's 10th place.

Although they have lost their last two away games, they are seeking a third successive victory on the road in this competition.

Richard Cockerill's side are third in the Pro14's Conference B and have won their latest 13 home games in the pool stage of the Challenge Cup. Their last home defeat came in last season's quarter-final to Munster in March.
