That's all folks. Defeat for Edinburgh but they are still very well placed to progress in the Challenge Cup.

Glasgow gave it everything against Exeter but a thrilling draw is not going to be enough for them in the Champions Cup.

Exeter can start planning for the quarter-finals.

Coaches always talk about performance over results. If you take the result out of this, there's so many positive parts to that performance that can be a springboard for the massive effort that's needed in the next few weeks if they're to qualify domestically. That was a terrific performance.

The European pool has gone. All focus now goes to the Pro14. Glenn Bryce suggested the other day that Warriors need to win every game to keep it in their own hands. If they can bring the intensity they brought today they can get out their conference and into the knock-out stages.

  5. La Rochelle regret for Warriorspublished at 17:20 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2020

    FT: Glasgow 31-31 Exeter

Glasgow will be kicking themselves over that home loss to a weakened La Rochelle side. That has been the killer result for them.

Dave Rennie's side go to Sale next weekend but even a bonus point win is going to leave them short of a place in the last eight.

An extraordinary game of rugby. Ruthless from Exeter. I don't think either team deserved to lose because both teams put huge amounts into this match. What an epic it was. A draw suits Exeter perfectly, but doesn't do much for Glasgow at all.

Those two yellow cards were indeed costly for Glasgow, with the home side conceding 21 points while down a man.

A disappointed Glasgow co-captain Ryan Wilson tells BBC Radio Scotland: "Those yellow cards killed us a bit, they always do.

"At times we played some brilliant rugby and showed what we can do, but we just couldn't get the job done."

Glasgow cannot summon one last push as possession is quickly surrendered. It's all over.

    Three points each.

Exeter win the group with a game to spare and Glasgow are almost certainly out of the running...

Penalty to Exeter. Stuart Hogg is going to have a go from a long, long way out...

    He couldn't could he?

The Scotland full-back has been pretty subdued this afternoon but now has the chance to clinch the win against his old team.

Glasgow are still going and still playing high-risk rugby. Exeter are keeping them out though as we enter the last few minutes.

What we've seen is an impact off the bench. George Turner stepped up with two big carries and managed to win a penalty. You can feel this crowd really believe Glasgow can overturn this Exeter side. It's right on a knife-edge with an absolutely cracking ten minutes to look forward to.

The resilience of this Glasgow side is remarkable. Just when we continue to ask questions of them, they react and come back, and that was with fourteen men.

    Niko Matawalu

Glasgow get a quick maul going from a line-out and Niko Matawalu, on for Tommy Seymour, dots down in the corner.

Adam Hastings levels the game with an outrageous kick into the wind from right on the touchline.

It looked like things were slipping away for Glasgow but they are right back in it and have a bonus point of their own now.
