It's been great entertainment. We have had some really good rugby and some shocking discipline, a bit of everything.

    HT: Glasgow 24-14 Edinburgh

Five tries. Two red cards. One yellow card. New rules - captain's challenge, 20-minute red card stuff. Scraps galore.

Who said this game was meaningless?

It has to be clear and obvious and the fact they are taking so long to decide suggests it's not clear and obvious.

Try - Glasgow 24-14 Edinburghpublished at 40 mins

    Fraser Brown

That could be a pivotal try.

It's just patient play from the Warriors, with Brown eventually battering over in front of the sticks.

But hang on, another captain's challenge is coming! This game is crazy. What are we looking at here?

It was meant to be for Tom Lambert's holding of Jamie Ritchie, but there's not much in it. Not clear and obvious, so TRY AWARDED.

    Ross Thompson converts.

Remember. Red card = 20 minutes playing with a man down. The red carded player can't return, but a replacement can be made.

Ratu Tagive has come off, as Tom Lambert comes on as Glasgow need the full complement of front-rowers.

  7. Red card - Oli Kebble (Glasgow)published at 38 mins

    Glasgow 17-14 Edinburgh

Henry Pyrgos chased after Kebble as the ball went to deck, with Glasgow getting the penalty advantage.

The big prop tries to get the scrum-half off him, but he's effectively elbowed him in the head.

Two red cards. One each. Incredible.

  8. Another card?published at 38 mins

    Glasgow 17-14 Edinburgh

Oli Kebble could be in trouble here...

    Edinburgh use their captain's challenge.

  9. Warriors threatenpublished at 37 mins

    Glasgow 17-14 Edinburgh

Another lapse in discipline costs Glasgow some good field position.

Edinburgh with possession in their own half, but great blitz defence forces them backwards and Glasgow win the turnover.

    Here they come again...

That's absolutely a red card for me. It's direct contact to the head.

  11. Red card - Mark Bennett (Edinburgh)published at 33 mins

    Glasgow 17-14 Edinburgh

Due to this slightly strange trial of a new law, Edinburgh will only be down to 14 men for 20 minutes. It was a hit directly to Ali Price's head.

Mark Bennett can't come back on, but they can bring on a replacement after the 20-minute period.

Glasgow's Fraser Brown used his 'captain's challenge' wisely there.

Ross Thompson misses the resulting penalty, though. Still a three-point game.

  12. Card coming?published at 33 mins

    Glasgow 17-14 Edinburgh

The referee Adam Jones has walked over to a touchline monitor to review a potential high tackle from Mark Bennett on Ali Price...

  13. try

Try - Glasgow 17-14 Edinburghpublished at 30 mins

    Dave Cherry

    That man again!

Edinburgh are killing Glasgow at the maul. They rumble over and Cherry gets his second score. Another great kick from Nathan Chamberlain too.

Glasgow's discipline is killing them. When they don't give away penalties, they look pretty comfortable in defence.

  14. Sin-bin - Rob Harley (Glasgow)published at 29 mins

    Glasgow 17-7 Edinburgh

Glasgow are down to 14 men for 10 minutes, as Rob Harley is done for a maul infringement.

He was already on a warning for his behaviour at previous mauls, so he can't have too many complaints.

  15. Edinburgh advancepublished at 27 mins

    Glasgow 17-7 Edinburgh

It's phase after phase from Edinburgh at the moment, but they're not getting very far.

They have an advantage now, though. Glasgow's discipline letting them down here.

That was such a soft try to let in. Edinburgh pride themselves on their defence and that was not a good example.

  17. try

Try - Glasgow 17-7 Edinburghpublished at 21 mins

    Foko Lokotui

    And another!

Ross Thompson's high, hanging restart allows Kyle Steyn to smash Damien Hoyland, and Glasgow get the turnover.

A few phases later, and Fokotui does well to batter up and reach to score. Thompson is flawless with the conversion once more.

Edinburgh did that really well, they got the drive going and then Dave Cherry just broke off at the last minute and he pretty much went over untouched. Thoroughly deserved for Edinburgh.

  19. try

Try - Glasgow 10-7 Edinburghpublished at 20 mins

    Dave Cherry

The prolific Dave Cherry is on the scoresheet.

Glasgow's discipline has collapsed, and the Edinburgh hooker peels off another maul and falls over in the corner.

Nathan Chamberlain nails the touchline conversion.

  20. Feisty stuffpublished at 18 mins

    Glasgow 10-0 Edinburgh

Fraser Brown has caused a Glasgow penalty to be reversed after a shove on Duhan van der Merwe, which caused a bit of a scrap between the players.

Edinburgh can't find a gap, but have another penalty. Five-metre lineout coming up.

There is a LOT of needle in this one.
