Melvyn Jaminet takes another high ball. The France full-back is getting peppered by England tonight.

Prop Will Stuart carries powerfully for England before Marcus Smith shows a glimpse of his fancy footwork, almost sending George Furbank through a small gap.

France are one pass or one catch away from blowing this game out of sight. Freddie Steward is struggling defensively. England need to respond and show something different.

However, France are smart at the breakdown and turn the ball over again.

Antoine Dupont kicks clear into touch and the game is back in England's half.

Shaun Edwards has clearly had a big effect on this French side. They absolutely love defending. They throw themselves into every tackle.

France have carved England open a few times. They're going absolutely hell for leather at the defensive line. England can't get a big shot away.

Easy for Jaminet and France are eight points in front again.

Antoine Dupoint can't catch an offload from Gregory Alldritt but it doesn't matter as referee Jaco Peyper brings play back for a penalty on France's right, a touch outside the English 22.

This looks like a good chance for Melvyn Jaminet to restore their eight-point lead.

Gael Fickou sits Jack Nowell down with a thumping tackle.

Jonathan Danty kicks behind and then it's an error from George Furbank, who steps into touch to hand France a line-out just outside England's 22.

Jack Nowell could be in trouble here.

Referee Jaco Peyper and TMO Marius Jonker are having a look at the England wing's challenge on Melvyn Jaminet as the France full-back was trying to catch a high ball.

Jaminet falls awkwardly from a height as Nowell makes contact with him mid-air.

The penalty actually goes against France wing Damien Penaud, who is deemed to have got in Nowell's way and pushed him into Jaminet.

England are not going to be rampaging through this French side, but if they get into position and go through their phases, France may give some penalties away. It's a good riposte after the French try.

Just outside the French 10-metre line but in front of the posts, Smith slots over his penalty with ease.

England are off the mark.

England take the direct route as they look to chip away at France's lead, with the forwards taking it in turns to truck it up in midfield.

Uini Atonio is then penalised at a ruck, giving England the chance to kick at goal.

It's comfortably in Marcus Smith's range.
